No matter how many times I hear this song I always feel the same way. It's a masterpiece.
total masterpiece.
This song has been preserved in the library of Congress for it being a masterpiece of historical reference. Yeah, it's that good. These living legends won the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame award and are STILL making records....
Metallica is one of those bands that you can say you're proud to have lived in the era when they were making music. One of the best bands ever and I say that as someone who grew up with brit pop and trip hop.
Shout of for Trip Hop. Your my man. Only came here to see people who didn't grow up with Metallica react. Found a Tip Hop fan. Noice

While wearing a Spice Girls shirt. Lmao
seen them more than 30 times live. This was one of the best performances of this song.
It's prob the greatest metal single ever recorded.
I totally agree, sorry Black Sabbath.
Metallica, they are so incredible... The bravado and show off nature of youthfulness has been replaced simply by the knowledge that they know who they are and are super comfortable with this fact. They know that the people who come to their shows are there for them as they are there for the people. Metallica, they just belong on that stage and can sell out a show on any continent. Which is what they have done. They played in Antarctica a few years back too. They feed off the crowd and the energy drives the crowd into an even more higher place which turns the neverending cycle more and more. Been to several of these shows, but wouldn't hesitate even 1ms to go again. It is a borderline religious experience... You cannot get enough of these guys and they cannot get enough of us either. Metal music is outsider music and all of us outsiders love it and them. Can't wait to see them again in Finland!
Truth!
This song from their 1989 Seattle show live is amazingâŠthat concert is amazingâŠ
1989 Seattle is absolutely Metallica at the pinnacle of their
powers. Must watch!
I hadn't seen the title of the original video, but as soon as the audience started singing, I knew that it was either in Montreal or Quebec City. Those two towns are famous among touring bands and singers. The fans there are very dynamic.
It was this first show at Videotron centre...the night before they were at the old Colisée.....
Lar Ulrich the drummer wanted to start a band. He put out an ad .James Hatfield responded and the band was born.
Fun Fact: They played "Master of Puppets" at about 120% speed here. Simply amazing
Also, this song just so happens to be really popular right now because of Stranger Things season 4. Of course it was already a legendary song and didn't need any publicity to be acclaimed, but it was still a badass cool scene.
120x speed is the only way to play MoP. Been doing it since '87.
Love y'all!!!â€ïž Lex is a pure joy to watch!! Her enthusiasm and excitement is just the best!!đ
Yayyyyy, love the reaction†...and yes although they are older now they are much more refined. This is one of my favorite songs/ albums by by them, and they were so young when this came out.
It's cool to see your reactions to this music, which you've already become acquainted with. Your reaction is becoming similar as my own. You can see all the nuances of the same song, but different recordings. Took me over 30 years to get to this point. Y'all are on the fast track. Keep making videos.
High five to this reaction!đđœ Brad got it! Finally. Yes!! Just immerse yourself to the music. Let loose and go nuts! Itâs so much fun! I wish for the day you can see them live. đ€đŒđ€đŒ As always, Lex is fun to watch, but Brad, you did it! đđŒđđŒđđŒđđŒđđŒđ„°đ„°
So glad you're back to metallica! Love seeing you come around. Yes. The more you hear it the more you appreciate.
I found Metallica in 1988 - Master Of Puppets was my first album of theirs. Was blown away. Went back and bought Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning. Been a fan ever since. What a wonderful metal ride over the years and they are still bringing it!
As I listen to this Video my 5 and 7 year old Grandson's sang along to most of it word for word. How cool do you have to be for 3 generations of a family to know the words to your songs? All hail Metallica.
Great reaction. Brad actually seemed like he enjoyed the song. These guys are amazing musicians, composers and performers.
I always enjoy your reactions. They are always a pleasure.
Heavy metal is the greatest music in the world, nothing compares to it. The best musicianship and song writing. There is not another genre of music that can come close.
Yessss! You sing it Lex!
Yep, awesome being at the show singing with them. When I saw "Through the Never" in theater there were people singing along too. "Memory Remains", "Seek & Destroy" have audience singing parts, "One" had people singing,,,can't remember.
Absolute Masterpiece of a song and you appreciate it even more when you learn how to play it on the guitar/bass and drums. Itâs so incredible. đ€đœđ€đœ
I absolutely love this band, I've seen them many times, the girls time on The Puppets tour with Anthrax supporting and my ticket only cost ÂŁ4.50...yes people ÂŁ4.50!!! What an amazing gig, every gig is. When I hear their intro The Ecstasy of Gold I get all emotional, the pretty bit of this song does the same. Love love love
I love to see people discovering great music. Their eyes say it all.
My first Metallica concert was in the summer of 1987 the tail end of the Puppets tour. I have been to 14 Metallica concerts since. They never disappoint.

She's really having fun!!
been listening to metallica since they released kill em all in 1986!! still listening to em in 2022!!đ€đ€
Your Son is loving this! đ»
They are amazing live. Every show I've been to has been great. You guys definitely need to see one before they retire.
Just let the machine open you up. It's like enjoying driving. So many gear changes, speeds, turns, etc. It's about the "peace" of the journey. Love you guys!!
You guys need to see them live! Period!
Lex has such a great taste in music.
Glad to see you feeling better mama lex
That was a great concert. I was there as I'm from Quebec City. Still have my ticket from that night! I wish you could attend one of their show soon!
I've seen them live twice, in 2009 and 2013. Both time it took me a couple of days to recover đ Ears ringing, voice wrecked and buzzing like crazy. Walked on clouds for three days đ€
One of my All Time Favorite Bands & one of the Greatest Bands Ever!
I have seen them 5 times. The first time when I was 9 in Cincinnati at Riverbend arena in 1992. The second time when I was 17 in 2000 at Kentucky Speedway. James Hettfield was hurt in a jet ski accident and couldn't make it. The other bands were Korn, Kid Rock, Power Man 5000 and System of a down. At the end we got to see the other Metallica members play songs with the other 4 bands. It was amazing and we got free tickets to see Metallica at an upcoming date at Rupp Arena in KY a month later which was the 3rd time I saw them. The 4th time I saw them at Ohio Stadium aka the horse shoe in Columbus Ohio in 03 when I was 20. That was a stacked one too. Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Mud Vayne and Def Tones. The last time when I was 21 I saw Metallica and Godsmack at US Bank arena in Cincinnati in 2003. All of them were amazing and of every band and artist I've seen live nothing compares. Do more Metallica lives please.
The band I've seen the most times, coming in at 12! First time was on the Master of Puppets tour opening for Ozzy, right before Cliff died. There's nothing quite like seeing them live. Unbelievable energy!! However, as much as I like to sing/scream along with the lyrics, I don't like it when they leave it completely up to the audience, at least not for a whole verse. I'm like "I paid a bunch of money to hear YOU sing it" đ It's fun while you're doing it though.
The first time I saw them was when they toured with Ozzy not long before cliff passed!
Seen them with Jerry Cantrell and days of the new..July 4th 1999...they played just over 4 hours.. the ground literally shook..and every song sounded just like the CD ...they were slick asf
I saw them on this tour, at Nassau Coliseum in NY. I won a meet and greet pass, so I got to meet the band before the concert. Metallica has been my favorite band since I was 11, which was in 1984, so Iâd been waiting 25 years at that point, and at least 15-20 concerts of theirs, to meet them, because they are the ones that inspired me to learn guitar. Playing guitar is what got me through my teens, it was an emotional outlet that literally saved my life. I would not be here if it werenât for Metallica and playing guitar. I finally got to tell them that in 2009 at the Death Magnetic concert. Meeting them was surreal, an experience Iâll never forget.
We also had amazing seats for the show, and to top it all off, my then 70 year old father came with us. It was his first concert ever, for any music genre. He enjoyed it, he loved the energy and remarked about how much energy the band put out and how much the crowd gave back. It made the concert even more special, and thatâs especially true now because heâs no longer here. Itâs a night Iâll never forget and is one of my favorite memories of my dad and I.
I saw many times back in the day and I must say their prime time was during the And Justice Tour. James was out of control, just a while raw caveman full of anger. It was crazy. Now it's just a big show, and everyone is in control. They now lack the wild aspect that made them scary back then.
Seeing Metallica live is a life changing experience!
I saw them in Glasgow 2017 playing the exact kind of show and venue as this....totally amazing
I've saw the Justice and Black album tours and both outdoors. I regret missing seeing them with the SF Symphony
YOU MADE MY DAY GUYS, GREAT REACTION!!!! đ€đŒđđ¶ I JUST LOVE METALLICA!!!!
Managed to see these guys in a tiny venue back in the 90s. It was insane.
Just always enjoy your videos. Nothing else to say and nothing else needs to be. Keep 'em up.
Incredible show, was there, I live in Quebec City and its so great they did a complete recorded show here !! :)
Live music is always the best đ
Lex got on that one, kicked it, and took off!!!đ€đđ€
I saw them live on the 'and justice for all' tour and then again in Memphis at the Pyramid for the 'Black' album tour. It was SO awesome both times.
Saw them many times and id say this one ROCKS! Thanks
Smiled big when I saw this on my sub box đ€
There's a full concert they played in France that is a MUST SEE. The whole thing is mind blowing
Nimes 2009 đ„đ„đ„đ€đ€đ€
I love how giddy Lex gets â€
Love Brad's shirt.đ
Try "For Whom thebBell Tolls", Live on The Green, in Oakland.... Great show... Miss Cliff Burton!!!â€â€â€
The last time I saw them is on CZcams in its 2 hour and 25 minutes entirety.
Lincoln, NE September 6, 2018.
You guys oughtta check it out.
Love your channel. Keep on Kicking Major Ass
Love.
They are the Masters!
Brad, your really coming around. đ
Master of Puppets is the first metal album entered into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry It will be preserved for all time
Oooh godlike!
Imagine being able to do this type of performance after more than 30 years of gigs. Plain crazy.
Totally agree. To think that they were far more intense and physical on stage 40 years ago when they first started out.
Theyâre doing it for fun again. Theyâve come full circle. Theyâre back to the reason why anybody picks up a guitar in the first place.

Metallica is my forever favorite band. I'm 56 now and their songs play every day in my car or on my computer or phone.
Lex needs to check out "Metallica - Live Shit: Binge & Purge - Seattle 1989" for sure.
Incredibly performance by
Metallica! đžđąđ¶Great reaction đ
Thank you â€ïž Lex loves Metallicađ
Love it, love that I'm seeing you react to the same song... a few days later it seems. Metal Militia - Brad is definitely invited
Came here originally for the Metallica Reacts...stayed for the MetalLex Reacts. Love when you guys get back to metal, hits my feels good man.
I saw them in a small auditorium in Burlington Vermont in 1988. They had promised to play every state that tour. The Cult opened.
I loved this reaction.
I saw them at the Forum back in the days .
Been to their concert Costa Rica 2016. Mid to late 50's and they were non stop for 2 1/2 hours. I had to sit down and rest 4 times from standing. Pure energy. Don't know how they do it?
Metallica is love by my generation, because they keep us young and they are a testament to how awesome music was in our youth. The fact that they can still deliver at their age is a testament to their love for their fans
Amazing
That super tight & fast down picking.. these guys are in their 60s.. Jeeze
I think I saw this tour - they look the same and have the 'oval stage' in the center of the hall with stairs going under for their 'backstage' which is quite unique. James Hetfield spits a lot!
This is the year MY MUSIC BLOWS UP, Imma make mama proud!đđ„âđ
Underrated
Must watch some of the Iron Maiden flight 666 live from Rio performances probably one of the best live bands of all time
The fact Lexi knows the words to a Metallica song gives me hope for the future. đ Happy Halloween!
I seen them in concert freaking awesome â€ïž
Kirk Hammett is one of my favorite guitarists, absolutely amazing musician but all are great. I love metal and hard rock.
I was in 9th grade when this hit......Peace!
Lex your correct the more you listen to it the more u realize how good it actually is
1983 was the best year of my life until 1988 and then in 91
Life is a journey and Metallica has made the most of it with the puppet now becoming the master.
Coolest thing I ever saw at a Metallica show was the and justice for all tour when Lady justice crumbles at the end but this original tour was cool too
Lexi in the Spice Girls top is awesome. Haven't seen any SG reaction videos. Genre Fluid is a great shout too.
Epic album from start to finish.
Brad, on catching a beat as far as thrash goes: they tend to be playing 16ths so listen for a kick drum or snare on the quarter beat, or if it's really fast, every other quarter beat, on the first and the half. To count it out with 16ths for a measure you'd put stress on the 1s - (1)234(1)234(1)234(1)234. If the beat sounds like a gallup it's probably more like this - (1)23(1)23(1)23(1)23 where each quarter of a measure is taken up by 3 notes instead of 4. (Those are triplets - no such thing as 12th notes). Either way, at that speed it's about dividing it up perceptually.
You guys might enjoy the concerts where they brought in a full orchestra to ramp up their songs in live stadium shows.
A fabulous band.
Just bought tickets to see them live in Seattle⊠I canât waitâŠ. But Iâll have to wait because the concert is in 2024.
I saw them in 1990. So it will be fun to see them again⊠a lot maturer đ
Soon we gotta get a pair of headphones for lex's belly..đ
They just get better with age â„ïžđžđ€đ„
You can tell Lex is dying to be in that crowd đ€Ł
Thatâs so cute! đ€đ»â€ïž
Metallica is known for their relentless touring(more so in their younger years, but still today, relative to their age). They all have various physical ailments from years of wear and tear.
