- How to repair a VHS tape, that won't rewind. It will play and fast forward but for some reason, it won't rewind! Mark has to trouble shoot what is going on. Don't worry, this story has a happy ending!

Why did the real break in the first place?
It was the locking mechanism.
As I said to another guy: Can't I just remove the reel locks altogether? They are not doing anything except storage protection correct?
They keep the tape tight and in place. Try removing them and play the tape to see what happens and let me know!
@@TheMediaNerdMT Yeah, I guess that's why the tape only plays intermitted after removing. I'll transfer to another one with the reel-locks in place.

This was the first video that I made for this channel back in 2021. There is a learning curve when it comes with making CZcams videos. I just wished that you would have seen the date it was published and how many more I have done since then and how much better they have become. I wish viewers could be more forgiving and maybe compliment more on a video than quickly point out mistakes especially when the videos are designed to help people.

Did you try another tape? If it still happens try cleaning the vcr. Check out my video on cleaning the heads.
