Excellent video. This restaurant is what America is all about.
We love America and this place! 🇺🇸 Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for sharing the tradition that is Jerry's, love you all! Especially that pup!
The Spot in Sidney, Ohio sells the Big Buy. That's my favorite version, but I love them all! I miss the Burger Chef and Red Barn version a lot.
Thanks for watching and sharing that. We like trying stuff we haven't had before. We may need to go to Sydney, OH, and check it out. Hope you have a good week.
Wow When myself & my twin Sister & baby Sis Was Growing up Our parents took us At Least once A month to Jerry's Restaurant in Hazard KY.. We lived Near in Whitesburg KY.. the Memories.. the Simple Life... The J boy box...😊
Thanks for sharing those wonderful memories with us! We know Hazard and Whitesburg very well! 💖😊
Great video, guys. The J-Boy Burger looked yummy! I'm subscribing.
Your vodeo made me hungry. Maybe I'll get a Bob's Big Boy burger later today.
Thanks for subscribing! Welcome aboard! 😀 were glad to have you! The J-Boy was yummy!
Never had a Bob's big boy, but always wanted to try it. We have Frisches Big Boy here, I wonder if they are similar? Anyways, thanks for watching and commenting!
That hole meal looks great I would want to sample it all .
It was so good! Everything was great! Thanks for watching and commenting!
The woman in the background at 9:25 is wondering what the hell y’all are doing! 😂
Yeah, we get a lot of funny looks, hahaha! Thanks for watching!
Good memories luv it I miss the glass bottles miss the old places that went out 😢
Us too! This is such a great place, I wish they would open more locations. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Loved the big boy and the doozie from kenneys.
The big boy is a good burger! I'll have to look up the doozey at kenneys, never heard of it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ya know. I have baby back ribs cooking right now and I’m ready to throw them in the fridge and take a road trip to Jerry’s! 😂 That spaghetti looked soo yummy and the burger, made me think of eating at Big Boy’s with my grandma in the 80’s! Thanks for the great video guys!
It was really good. It was fun to do this video. It is good to see so many people share their memories of places like this before they all go extinct. Thanks for watching and commenting! Enjoy the ribs! 😉
Heck yeah....hot fudge brownie😋🌻
Nothing beats it! Thanks for watching and commenting.
We ate there all the time in Pikeville when I was growing up.
So did we! We really miss that place and the people that worked there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks so much for this review! We miss Jerry's so bad since they pulled out of Louisville. We had no idea there was still one left. We will definitely stop in here on our next trip to the Smokies. I used to always get the club or the fish sandwich. I'm sad to see they went to the smaller fries though. I miss the old ones. That hot fudge cake looks as good as it used to! Glad it tastes the same! On second thought, we might just ride out there today! We loved the live last night, too. It was great! Thanks again!❤
Thanks! This location isn't in the smokies, it's in Paris Ky. It's about an hour and half drive from Louisville. I don't think I've ever had the fish sandwich from Jerry's I'll have to try it! We appreciate you logging on for the LIVE, we had a great time chatting with everyone! We're going to do some research and work out the kinks before the next one, we promise! 😉😉
Thanks!
Wow, thanks Glenda! We will pass this along to a server during oje if our reviews!
Jerry's looks like an awesome restaurant. I've never been to one. That dessert looked wonderful! Great video, y'all.
It's a great place and a shame they have all closed except this one. If you have the chance you should stop in here! Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great day!
Back in the 1980s in Richmond Indiana they used to have a Jerry's Restaurant my favorite food there was the chicken and yes the coleslaw was amazing
It seems that this chain was so beloved by everyone, its sad to see that it went away like it did. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@RaysontheRoad miss it alot
We do too. That's why we were excited to hear one still exists in Paris, KY. Glad we could take you along for the adventure.
We had one many years ago , it's Midland Restaurant now in Alcoa , TN , country cooking [ meat and two or three ] If you order their coleslaw it comes to table like a salad before your dinner , oh and killer blackberry cobbler.
Everybody seems to have loved Jerry's and has fond memories of it. It is a wonder it went under. I never tried the blackberry cobbler from there though but it probably was delicious. One of my favorite things to do when I'm traveling is to find old restaurants that used to be old chains just to get a glimpse as to what they would be like in their prime. Thanks for watching and sharing your memories.
Love the memories of a nostalgic eatery! Sweaty hand slaw 😂 Reminds me of the "rusty water" we thought we were getting served at our old Hardees as kids 😆❤
Hahaha! Nothing like a trip down memory lane!
The Pikeville one was incredible. Miss it greatly.
So do we!!!
Food looks yummy
It was! Have you ever been to Jerry's Martha?
We have a restaurant in Anderson SC when your side is coleslaw it comes out first and is served with captains wafers.
That sounds like a place we may want to visit. What is the name of it? Thanks for watching and commenting.
All the food from Jerry's Family Restaurant looks so good. The Champ ham sandwich and the J Boy burger is something I would really like. The spaghetti and meat sauce looks especially good. At home I do put green pepper and onions in my tomato sauce. Holy Moly, the Hot Fudge Cake looks amazing. Nice to see you cleaned all your plates. You picked some great choices from the menu. It looks like you both really enjoyed it. T'hanks for a fun video.
The food here was really good! 😋We really enjoyed it. It is amazing how they are still able to make everything as they used to. There are some copy cat recipes online that we have been meaning to try to make at home. Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊Thanks for watching and commenting!
great review ,i love frischs big boys ,but i love that hot fudge cake looked great thank you for this review
Thanks! That hot fudge cake was so good it should be illegal! Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you're having a great day, God bless!
@@RaysontheRoad thank you
You're welcome!
Nice car and music
Yes, we love looking a the old classic cars!
Nice place
Yes it is! We hope this location sticks around!
That is the best looking hot fudge cake I have ever seen
It was incredible!
Nice truck 🚛🚒
It was so cool! We had bever seen one like it before.
I really like the Jerry's in Paris! It's one of the few places that still offers liver & onions on the menu, and they make it so good! (As a side note, eating beef liver is amazing for your skin!!) Next time I'm definitely getting that hot fudge cake! 🤤
We love it too! It's definitely one of our favorite restaurants! Thanks for sharing that about the liver and onions. I need to try that next time we are there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have been to the Jerry’s that used to be in Prestonsburg,Ky always had good food
We have also been to that one. We miss the Jerry's chain. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great bonus footage. I was hoping there would be a Ford Mustang and sure enough there is was. That looked like it was a 1965 Mustang. The red paint job and red and white interior looked awesome. My first car was a 1966 Mustang that was past down in my family. It went from my father, to my sisters, then to my brother and finally to me. Unfortunately I lent it to my friend and he wrecked it. I probably still would have it if he didn't wreck it.
That was an awesome car. I can't believe how clean it was. The camera doesn't do the paint job justice! The interior was really cool. I wish they still made cars like that. That is terrible to lose such a family heirloom like that. 😔 Hopefully, he was ok and hopefully he compensated you for all that trouble! Hope you are doing well and having a good weekend.
My husband loves homemade garlic bread with butter, garlic powder, and sandwich bread but my kids really prefer the frozen variety.
I like both. Sometimes though, the old school stuff like they had here is just so good! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can you say yum I don't know if remember Shoneys we would go there and eat and mom and dad said if we ate everything we could get dessert I usually got strawberry pie and my brother got hot fudge cake I love you guys and your videos have a great weekend ❤❤❤❤😊
We love Shoney's! They had great desserts too! Thanks for sharing your memories. 😊💖Hope you are doing well!
Only burgers ive had like that one is the big mac and also the Krystals double. I always threaten to make a copycat big mac at home on the blackstone so maybe that one will take the trophy but so far im a big mac girl. Just wish they would stop shrinking the actual patty. Great video guys. Thank you
It seems everything is getting smaller these days, but the prices are going up! We don't have a Blackstone but I've had burgers cooked on the before and they were great! Matt likes the Krystal double burger. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I sometime get the appitizer combo for my dinner lol😊
That's a good choice, and we have done that a few times! 😀
Coleslaw and captain wafers are the best combo!
I liked putting butter from those little wax paper things on the crackers when I was little. Jerry's so great, we all need to go again soon!
This restaurant looks very interesting to consider eating at, and Matt I know I’ve gotta be older then you young man, and I guess I don’t remember the glass bottles for the Catsup from years ago. It’s a real shame to see all these old time places to go away, but..who knows maybe it’s for the best, I don’t know. I really don’t care for McDonald’s except for there breakfast ( I’m a breakfast person)
The glass bottle of ketchup used to be at all the diner style restaurants back home. Maybe Eastern Kentucky is just old-fashioned? 😆 Jerry's was a fun restaurant with great people. We miss it. Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope you have a great weekend!
😮😮
Thanks for watching!
Matt and his cheese pulls lol. Yeah we had a Jerry's and I loved it....17th and National Road. It was on the way home so we used to go there on Sundays after church. I don't normally eat cole slaw at restaurants but I loved theirs. As I remember it was sweet and yep you dipped the crackers in it.
And THEN Stacey ordered my go to meal :) oh man!!!!!! I used to tell the waitress to just bring me another shaker of parmesan!!!! Oh I want it so bad now!!!!! Guess I will have to go to Frisch's and get their chili spaghetti (the only other spaghetti I like in a restaurant) YESSSSSSSSS the Champ was the same as the Buddie Boy at Frisch's too. The fudge cake too exact same thing!
I really really enjoyed this video. Such great memories. :)
you got a Frisch's in Madison, IN ......across the river and head east :)
We have one location left in Louisville, but if it closes we will be there!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I've eaten at the ones in Hazard and Prestonsburg. Seems like the interior had red/maroon colors back in the day, or am I wrong?
Yes, I believe so! I remember a lot of hunter green decor! I loved the food atmosphere!
Damn I love spaghetti!
Me too! And theirs is AMAZING! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Best cole slaw ever!!
Yes, it is great! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sometimes shaky cheese just hits! 💜
Exactly! I like the fancy stuff too, but the shaky cheese is just so good! Thanks for watching, Susan! Hope you're having a great day!
DELICIOUS ! 🍔🍟🍝 🚗 🎶 🎵 🎸
Yes it was! Thanks for watching!
@@RaysontheRoad YOU ARE WELCOME !🕊
😀
Go Reds! Swept the Yankees…now home with the Tigers. Anxious to spend the weekend in Cincy cheering them on.
Go REDS!!!!!!
Pretty good cheese pull .
It was really cheesy! 😁
Hi love your channel , just curious where the Jerry's in Pikeville was? My wife's family is from there and we've been going every year for 33 years and just can't picture where Jerry's was at.
It was across the street from the Speedway gas station and beside the post office, which is now also demolished. If you watched the video, you saw pictures of it inside and out. It's hard to believe you have been going to Pikeville for 33 years and never saw it. I think your wife and her family need their Eastern Ky credentials revoked. 😆 🤣 It only closed maybe 10 years ago, and the building demolished a few years after that. Are you sure you were going to the right Pikeville? This place was a local institution!
Are you guys locals to gatlinburg? We just started watching your videos! We visit gatlinburg often!
Unfortunately, no. But we like to visit as often as we can! Thanks for much for watching and commenting, hope you're having a great day. Please let us know if you have any suggestions on places you would like up to review!
Lol what no hot sauce 😂
Hahaha! I was just as surprised as you! You know him too well, Martha!
Hope you had a great 4
We did! This is one of our favorites! Thanks for watching!
I’m headed to Paris
Its a nice place! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I am just letting you know Urichsville in ohio has a Jerrys restaurant and my sons favorite burger is the J burger just letting you know this guys
I'd like to visit that location. Great american restaurants, which was the largest franchisor of Denny's at the time bought the Jerry's chain out and closed or converted most of then to Denny's. Its odd that it is called the Jerry's Great American Restaurant. It also does not look like any of the Jerry's Family Restaurant locations i have been to. There is also an unrelated Jerry's chain out west.
Are you from Urichsville? Do you know anything about the history of this location? Was it always a Jerry's or was it a Denny's at some point?
103 McCauley drive Urichsville Ohio
Thanks for sharing!
Better than big boy
😋😊
Lol are you going to put Hot sauce on it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Use your manners and put your napkin in your lap.
Thanks for the tip! 👍
That hole meal looks great I would want to sample it all .
😋😊
