    Biggest thing I personally took away from it was off angles. I let my ego get the best of me sometimes and hate holding angles cause I feel like I’m being slow or something.

    How to be a solo. Step 1: Kill a three man. Step 2 clear the area for a little bit. Step 3 prone on your first kill. Step 4: the 4th that’s been in a bush this whole time taps you

    • @Dominique9325
      @Dominique9325 Před 2 lety +19

      this. this is the main reason why i hate playing solo. squads usually have a sort of a protection bubble around them. not only is it difficult to wipe a squad as a solo, but also the last surviving member(s) can choose to play like pussies making it impossible for you to loot your kills.

    • @zeph6182
      @zeph6182 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Dominique9325 This is somewhat true, but he does also cover it in the video - collect information and remember it! In a perfect world that fourth guy would have shot or you would have had audio or visual of him beforehand that lets you know there’s a fourth or fifth.
      I think a big takeaway from this video is also that it’s less important to know the exact location of each person than to know how many people there are and which directions they can push you from.

    • @datsmurf3438
      @datsmurf3438 Před 2 lety

      @@Dominique9325 honestly man as shitty as this sounds. What I do is if I feel there is a 4th hidden and ik if I poke my head out trying to find him I'm gonna get tapped. I just leave. better to lose a couple thousand in bullets wasted and meds used than lose a whole kit to a rat who is to scared to fight.

    • @skilz2kil528
      @skilz2kil528 Před 2 lety +1

      I mean this sort of just comes down to proper clearing and not being greedy - after the fight, *thoroughly* clear not only the immediate vicinity, but also the outside area around the fight, that way you increase the chances of catching last members of the squad who fell back to camp bodies with optics or third parties running up. Doing so will give you a rough amount of time you can spend looting in relative safety - with this time becoming more certain as your map knowledge and game sense increase. If the bodies of your original kills are going to be too risky/time consuming to clear for looting due to excessive angles or whatever, don't forget you can just leave and find some value elsewhere in raid - surviving is 99% more likely to be more profitable than diving in for loot and dying. Sorry for minor necro but I think its worthwhile to mention.

    • @Name-xs3bd
      @Name-xs3bd Před 2 lety +3

      @@skilz2kil528 idk your experiences man but this wipe has been actually insane with rats for me. I can burn a raid down to 5 minutes clearing half the fucking map and I’ll get tapped the instant I touch a body sometimes. If a body isnt 100% safe to loot I usually just dump all my loot in a corner then go alt/click the entire body and dip. Thats been the best way for me to do stuff without having to spend 10 minutes clearing an area

    These tips are not only great for Tarkov, it also applies to almost any FPS game. I've been playing FPS games my entire life and this video has just made me re-think everything I thought I knew. You have some fantastic teaching skills my friend. Great work my man!

    • @DooMedSean
      @DooMedSean Před rokem +2

      I've also played FPS games since I was(....let's be realistic, you could not play video games until the age of possibly about 5-6years old, I believe I started around 7yrs old, and had the original Nintendo and almost all games I played on PC were launch through Dos console lol. And FPS games didn't exist on consoles back then, so DooM was the first FPS I played and grew up on to this day of me being 35yrs old. I've seen the FPS genre evolve over the years and experienced basically all of them. I honestly enjoy those older DooM styled games over newer more realistic looking games, but of course I still really enjoy them too. Anyways, it all depends on the kind of game and what mechanics it has..Tarkov is super complex compared to Call of Duty, you don't use the same tactics or strategies. I've played Tarkov on and off since the beginning, sometimes long breaks from it, but I'm still not even a decent player, haven't learned it all yet and that's a big part of being successful in Tarkov. You need to know the maps and extracts, loot spots, high traffic areas, what loot takes priority, best guns for which maps, how to build them efficiently, what gear you need, what ammo to use, learning the sound cues, all the keybinds and combinations, where AI is at and how they react, how to do quests, how to use and upgrade the hideout, using the traders and flea market, the list just goes on....it's a massive amount of information to take in and absorb to have it be embedded in your memory. Whereas other shooters don't go as in depth and require so much focus and time dedicated to it.) But to end this book of a comment, I've played since I was able to, and as I said, I learned every games style and got experienced....but Tarkov.....Tarkov is a different beast. I thought I was a very good fps player, but Tarkov slapped me silly and laughed in my face lol. First game to ever do that years into playing it.

    When you are solo you always have to think of the other guy. And when you run out of PMCs to kill, there are always Pscavs to worry about.
    For me the best way to solo was to always pick your fights. Sometimes it is better to let someone past you if you are undetected - paid off many times for me in past actually as I had one guy get by me and then saw three of his loaded friends stomp after him. I had a glock with pst gzh on me and was on scav killing quest so... yeah I'll let the guys with face shields and tier 5 armor past me. Point is - I had nothing to gain from attacking them and clearly had no chance against them with the tools I had.

However your tip on just making a decision has helped a lot. I'll admit I have just sat there waiting for something to happen a lot because I was scared. Actually making a decision and trying to flank etc helped me win 2 fights yesterday. Thanks again for all the advice. Now if only I could aim better lol

    Man your videos are getting insanely good. I start using them as bookmarks to answer questions people have in the official discord now. Great job man. The only thing I'd like to see more is after the explanation some clips of 1vx to demonstrate what you're talking about. It's hard to find videos who do both, explain, and show. Most either do one or the other. The hardest thing to do is when you have to push a held angle, with inertia this feels a bit tough and I'm still not sure the best way to do it.
    I do have to meme at least once though:
    "Listen to the footsteps"
    *Interchange has left the chat*

    Great video! This is my first wipe and I think the best piece of advice for me personally was to just do something, I tend to freeze up at he first sign of combat hoping theyll play right into me which doesnt always end well and even when it does it doesnt feel like I gained or learned anything -- I just ratted up and got the drop on the guy. This also tends to me overstaying my welcome and them being right where they expect me to be once I give away my position

    • @higaluto
      @higaluto Před 2 lety

      Yes, this is important to overcome, i tend to freeze up too if i hear a sound and becoming a slow moving crab, this works in some situations but it just get you killed most of the time. It feels better to die if you at least got to spend a few mags of ammo. But tarkov is a game you have to dedicate yourself to if you want to enjoy it, if you cant get lvl 4 traders in 1-2months i dont think its worth it because of the wipes.

    I learned to love playing solo. Although I learned from playing in a group its a lot less stressful being on my own. The game is already stressful enough i dont need added stress. The group I was in always seemed to get mad if you didnt have good coms. They took it way too serious and it killed the enjoyment because i was always thinking I was messing up their raids lol so now its easier solo because everything i hear i shoot.

    when I watched this video I understood why my top tier gamming from other games didn't transfer to tarkov. This game is so much more risk and so much more intense I forgot all the tactics and ways to win fight more than outgun and out aim.

  • @Nas0630
    @Nas0630 Před rokem

    And here I thought you were good at the Cycle. I can defiantly tell you have a deeper understanding at this game. Its good to know that I use some of these already, even its only my second wipe now. Not having to worry about "is someone on my team?" is hands down my favorite part of playing Tarkov solo. I hate getting killed because I hesitate from bad coms and end up dying because someone says "yeah that's me" after I ask them and its 100000% NOT them. When I do play now I actually just came to terms with I rather be the leader in TKs in our group than hesitate because of bad communication.... hopefully you do a playback of some good solo fighter where you use these tips in there and pause the replay to talk about your mindset at the time or maybe subtle info you think some people may not pick up on right away. I personally think that may be something people would want to see as well.

    I am an almost 100% solo player, all I can say you learn the most while playing solo, there is no other way around it. Tarkov is the dark soul of fps, you cannot learn the game without dying! What I recommend is if you die, try to replay the last 2-3 minutes of your gameplay prior of your death, and route cause analyse what went wrong, what could have been done differently, even if you would eventually die. maybe you could have killed the second guy also... Do not be afraid to die, do not be afraid to use your instincts,worst case you are broke..., you can still scav run and make the loadout money back.
