Your comments always make me smile!! :-) I've always made lemonade using simple syrup and heating it on the stove and juicing the lemons and it was always either too sweet or too tart. Doing it this way is not only much easier and faster but also turns out perfect every time! Hope you enjoy!

I just watched the video, went to my kitchen, made this, and now I am drinking it. This is pretty close to spot on. As someone that lives out of the US and doesn't have access to carnivals or fairs, this works for me 100%! Tonight it might be made with vodka.
If you use limes go buy yourself a bottle of Brazilian Cachaça (like a light rum). Add a shot of that, now you have yourself a Caipirinha, the national Brazilian drink.

And helping me raise money for my local children hospital.
Thanks! I made them today, actually. And used straws too, worked good. I tried experimenting with more/less lemon and sugar, but I found your recipe definitely has the best balance of not being overpowering but being flavorful.
I’ve tried a lemon shake up at Chicagoland speedway during the NASCAR race a couple of summers ago. Used the same ingredients like this video. Still tasted great 👍
You could always just do it in a bowl with a tight fitting lid and then pour it into a glass if you can't find a lid for the glasses you have... ;-) Or if you happen to have a bar set, you could do it in the shaker which is made just for shaken drinks! Either way is just as easy and delicious!

For those people who will try to make this beverage, I think you should change the procedure a little bit. Before you put the ice, you should shake it well first to dissolve the sugar properly.
Don't see why not! I'm not sure how the sweetness compares between sugar and splenda so you might have to play with the measurement to get the taste right.

I have yet to try the new things like deep fried twinkies, deep fried Coke, grilled angel food cake, etc. There's no telling what you'll find at a fair nowadays, LOL!!

This recipe was great! I found that 1/2 a lemon and 1/4 a cup of sugar was much too mild for my taste. (I made this recipe in a 16 ounce glass too). I wanted it to be much more lemony, and much more sugary (like the ones you get that the actual fair). I upped the recipe to add a whole lemon and 1/3 a cup of sugar. This got me the desired, sugary goodness. Thanks for the recipe :)

way back when I was a teen (and I do mean way back!) I worked at our county fair one year in the lemonade shake up stand. I hated that week more than any other. first of all, i'm not keen on lemon anything & second, the bees!! the next year I requested anything but that stand & wound up with corndogs. anyway, you are good at making this stuff & it looks very good even to me LOL ;-)

Instead of water try using pre mixed lemonade ( I use the crystal light type packages). That is the secret ingredient that they use at the fair.
Used to run a booth and we actually just added the lemonade powder in with the sugar and lemon, then water. My personal favorite way to make it :)
It's very delicious, husband is approved. I substitute water for cold sparkling water 😋.
