The Pittsburgh Steelers took full advantage of every draft selection they made addressing all of their needs by adding talented and experienced prospects via the 2024 NFL Draft. With their top two selections the Steelers seemingly put the final pieces of their offensive line puzzle together. Couch Potato General Manager has consistently held their 20th overall pick Troy Fautanu in high regard ranking as the 15th overall prospect in the class. Center prospect Zach Frazier, a top 40ish prospect should settle in nicely at the pivot truly legitimizing an offensive line unit that while having shown recent improvement has been much maligned over the past few seasons.
The Steelers kept the strong start to their 2024 NFL Draft Class with a pair of Wilsons in the third round. WR Roman Wilson should serve as a nice complement (Z) to George Pickens out wide with his speed, route-running and under-appreciated physicality. LB Payton Wilson has a bit of a checkered injury history but entered the draft as our 2nd ranked linebacker in the class. His speed and physicality paired with free agent acquisition Patrick Queen should provide immediate dividends. Payton Wilson in the latter parts of third round may be one of the biggest steals in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers kept the momentum going in Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft adding, small school standout Mason McCormick which really demonstrated the front office's understanding that they must get the offensive line resolved. Followed by down lineman Logan Lees who should serve as a nice rotational piece on early downs and finally cornerback Ryan Watts. Watts has intriguing size to play on the boundary and could potentially carve out a role on special teams early in his career.
All-in-all an impressive draft class by the Steelers based on our evaluations entering the draft.
