It reminds me of when I was a child and played this music on an organ at my dear grandmother Kika's funeral mass. I remember that I was playing with tears in my eyes, because I was very sorry for the loss of my grandmother. May God have her in Heaven!
This music is a prayer. Amen.
This piece is wonderful. Remembers so many things from my life, my childhood, family weddings, funerals, very meditative. And Jonathan performed it very well as usual. I get emotional whenever I hear it.
This is the most beautiful pieces of music
Beautiful and amazing as always!!
The videography is just as spectacular as the organist!!!Bravo!!!!
For over a hundred years, this lovely aria has been played at the end of the weekly evening song service in the great amphitheater at Chautauqua, NY. it holds a special place in my heart. Thanks so much for this beautiful rendition.
Haven’t been able to listen to this for decades, it was played at my fathers funeral and always reminds me of that. But this is a beautiful rendition and very much the organ for the music.
Awe inspiring. Jonathan, you bring blessings to our lives.
The timing is different from the past I’ve heard, enjoyed it and the scenery inside cathedral is spectacular!!Great way to begin the day!!Thank You
Magnificent---as ever ! So noble and exultant, thank you so much for all your superb and continuing efforts which are appreciated by so many of us around the planet.
Köszönöm szépen ! Gratulálok !
I adore this piece , thank you so much for playing it .
wow! amazingly played
Marvelous. Hope they play this at my funeral
Bach, Haendel and Buxthehude, the best of all times

パイプオルガンの方が深みと哀愁があって素敵です✨✨
Wow!! Relaxing and majestic. Great music to begin my day. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️. Thank you
Wow!! What a beautiful performance.
What a beautiful arrangement and rendition. Suits the instrument, I guess, and definitely the cathedral. Bravo!
Absolutely magnificent. Thank you for sharing.
I once watched a documentary on the building of great cathedrals. It's still mind-blowing to me whenever I get shown those magnificent edifices. I've also seen the ruins in Scotland and Ireland, and it saddens and infuriates me to think of Henry VIII and Cromwell causing wonten destruction of such beauty, blood, sweat, and tears...
Quite agree, those two men have a great deal to answer for. Maybe they are still paying the price.....?
Beautiful music and fantastic organ playing !
👏🏻. Wonderful interpretation of this magnificent composition. Thank you !
The most beautiful rendition of an amazing work performed in a magnificent cathedral! Thank you for the masterly performance and superb visuals! I could watch and listen this over and over!!
Beautiful music, as always.
Absolutely gorgeous performance and Tom’s videography is brilliant, as always.
HEAVENLY 💛💚💙💜🧡❤
Thank you for this wonderful arrangement and performance. This Largo is next up in my quest to improve my piano skills, and you are providing inspiration to me.
Wonderful, thank you.
In questo splendore gotico...ombra mai fu!
beautiful ...
So simple and beautiful at the same time. Two geniuses Handel, who composes, and Jonathan, who plays the king-instrument, is the supreme musical symbiosis. The Scott brothers' perfect collaboration is a huge musical and architectural gift to posterity.
An aria composed by a German composer sung in Italian by a Persian king who is in love with a tree. But it is still beautiful.
Handel's Largo has been my favorite classical piece since the 1960's. Thanks Jonathan for the beautiful rendition and thanks Tom for the always very well-done video and audio. I can't decide whether I like this one better than the performance of Largo at the Albion Church. Regardless both are beautifully done.
Beautiful! This is one of my favorite works.
My god! Amazing 👏
Sublime 😊
Handell!!!!! Magnífica obra!
magnifique, merci....!
Very lovely, my friend. Very lovely indeed.
Beautiful. Thanks, Jonathan and Tom.
Beautiful and fantastic as always Jonathan!😁👍👏👏👏👏❤
Heel mooi
Another Handel's Largo video! Thank you so much! 😊😊😊
-1 dislike, this is an indicator of greatness
Mogę słuchać w nieskończoność...👌🎼🎵🎶Przepięknie !!
That's a very different looking organ console, almost has a grand piano-like finish. Awesome sound.👍
Listening to this video (many times over due to sheer enjoyment) prompted me to also listen to other organists on CZcams playing the same piece including that of Gert van Hoef. Although they - and he did a great job of playing, I think Jonathan has "nailed it" (to use the common expression). The sheer richness of the sound from 4:31 is quite amazing and simply not replicated elsewhere on other recordings. Thank you for making my enjoyment of music all the better.
you are right , I agree .
Beautiful love it🍃
No matter how many times I have heard Jonathan play this, every time I become filled with unshed tears.
Lovely sentiment Greta
excellent 🙌🙌🙌
Beautiful thank you.
Simplesmente MAGNÍFICO💯
Strange that one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created depicts the King of Persia singing about a shade tree . . .
Superb, Jonathan. Thank you.
Beautiful dog

Bravo!!!
Getting emotional at work... It's okay today as most are working from home (NZ level2 here). Take care all.
Super!
Very good!
This is beautiful and so is his other video of this piece
But… tbh, although the Albion organ is a beautiful sounding one, Largo sounds better here in this video.
What a wonderful way to design shutters for the swell boxes.
Those are not swell shutters but along with the abatons (lids) on the positif dorsal and main orgue are opened when the organ is in use and designed to throw the sound down the long very narrow and very high aisle. When the organ is not in use they close around the organ so it looks like a giant polished aluminum cylinder keeping the dust out.

What a novel idea. It's breathtaking and is on par with the wonderful sound of this organ.
❤❤❤
Fantastic. But the thought of hanging those banners gives me palpitations.
🎶🎵👏👏👏👏👏

Come to my office today if I have to go out for
Éxtasis...éxtasis...
"moving"
Please make a mistake just once 😆
Pedal part of Widor S6 1st movt, Albion church, penultimate page, pedals and manuals in unison high speed quavers: right foot catches the G# rather than the F#. IIRC. 😆
(I hope I'm right or else he might sue me for defamation of character!).
That's pretty much all you're getting though (and it's totally mean of me to point it out because it's pretty much impossible to play that bit perfectly at tempo. Edit: I see you're an organist too - I think you'll know what I mean!). He's exceptionally accurate as you say!
I think he's a totally extraordinary organist / musician. Not only consistently accurate, but also consistently rhythmical and musical. Really knows the music. Very rare with organists, in my experience. A great service to the instrument, and to the music, and certainly my family as a whole has very much enjoyed his regular morale boosting and spirit lifting recitals since the start of the pandemic.
🙂
Is there any rendition better suited to a rainy morning like today?
