One of the greatest jazz quartets of all time. Probably the greatest of their generation.
without a doubt
True!! My favorite jazz band alongside with Dave Holland Quintet
Bob Reynolds ee
I fell in love when I saw the Newport concert of the quartet. Modern jazz music at its finest. Redman and Mehldau are just great together.
OMG! Four of my biggest musical heroes. SOOO excited for this. Moodswing is one of the records that made me want to pursue this music for life. Still a desert island album for me. I second EVERYTHING they say here. The limitation thing is real. You went deep, because you either didn't have access to more recorded music and/or couldn't afford it.
Absolutely! Also, these guys just seem so humble and down to earth in the way they talk about music and compliment each other. And that's just amazing. But Bob, the real question here is: when is the Redman/Reynolds collaboration coming? That would be mind-blowing.
Bob Reynolds OMG huge fan 🤩🤩. Gotta have to agree 100%. This quartet has been an absolute inspiration for so many people!!
YOU are also our musical hero!!
4:59 "Just take the compliment" 😂😂😂
Mood Swing was a huge influence for me. My mom bought me that CD the same month I began playing jazz. Plus, as a bass player, I thought it was awesome that Christian plays both upright and electric on the record.
I saw him do that with Brian Blade, Chick Corea, Hohn McLaughlin and Kenny Garrett in Sydney, and couldn't believe how easily he could switch from acoustic to electric.
What a band. These dudes are TRUE MUSICIANS.
wish this vid was at least 2 hours, would love to hear more of what they each have to say especially all sitting in the room together
Ray Brown said this group
Should always play a few gigs together no matter what other projects they have. Sure it might be good business but it was more about remembering where they came from
. He said they're all great on their own but together it's something special.!
Cool.. do you remember when/where that was said? Was it an interview?
@@juancpgo It was said to me when I was driving him and his bass in a gage case from the blue note on the way to get hagen das ice cream.
The condensation of talents and positive vibes is truly amazing here! These Gentlemen are not to tell the story about themselves - it's all about music they create and share. Thank you God we are blessed with such Artists!
Amen
Omg! I remember all of their beginnings in college back in the early 90s! Along with Roy Hargrove. Great memories!❤️❤️❤️
Round again is the perfect example that Jazz is alive and thriving!!!

I just LOOOOVED watching this!
I can't wait for this album to come out.
Mood Swing is THE record for me. Among the first jazz records I owned. I’m still listening to it and I always keep discovering new stuff. Modern classic!
4:24 - Hot sauce bottle on top of Mehldau's piano? Is that a lucky charm? PS: Great Quartet.
My favorite for sure. There’s really no words to describe it.
Thanks guys !
can't wait to hear this record!!
Can't wait for this. Had this record pre-ordered for months.
Privileged to have seen each of these terrific musicians perform individually, but look forward to enjoying them together. What talent !
Great great great quartet !! Each of them is already amazing.
So nice to hear more about you all!! You are so wonderful!
I can’t wait to get this album tomorrow.
These guys have been inspiring me now for half a lifetime... thank you so much for this album. 😊🙏
the moment is precious
Wonderful. Great stuff. Thanks for making this.
Love your guitar history videos!
I admire so much each one of these musicians. One of the great quartets, no doubt!!
Beautiful people and musicians of genius
Absolutely incredible music form this band and a special chemistry that you get right away. I saw this band when they first played together and to get that same feeling again with this concert is just great! Now they have so much more experience and music to bring to the table It makes you want to pay attention to every note with anticipation and joy. The cream of the crop as far as musicianship goes - without a doubt.
Amazing!!!!!
4 musical giants for sure

There’s a glass of ketchup casually standing on Brad’s piano 4:24

James Brown + Rootsrock + Alice in Chains = MoodSwing
DOPE$HIT✨💯✨✊🏿
This is a Young Lion SUPERBAND out of the 90s missing Roy Hargrove …
They have first hand experience playing with the legends … I.e … Dizzy Gillespie , Ray Brown , Betty Carter…
😮🍎🍏💙
Jazz should change .. this black n white institutional yacking is done-with... Sit with the same record worship.
