I broke down my artistic process for Hydro Dipping Shoes!
This is based off of my personal experiences and may not be the best or only way to do it, but I hope I can shed some light on this!

For future reference, it's easier to take the tape off before the paint dries because then you won't risk any of the paint that dried to the tape, pulling the paint on the shoe :)

F.A.Q.s !!!
1. Primer definitely helps and I would suggest it
2. I use 3M Painters Tape... any masking or painters tape will be fine
3. I use a water resistant spray I found at the hardware store for a finish (which i show on camera)
4. I use "RUSTOLEUM" spray paint (which I show on camera) WHICH IS OIL BASED
5. I TAPE THE INSIDE OF THE SHOE TO PROTECT IT
What kind of primer do you use?
Sonic Shima normal white primer from a hard ware store !

I loved this tutorial man. I was about to toss an old dusty pair of white slip on Vans and decided to dip em instead cuz of this video. I covered all of the rubber outsole and rubber midsole (went up a little higher than in this video), the Vans tag and the elastic gussets and only dipped the canvas. They came out siiiiiiiick!!!

Ahhh!! This was a great tutorial recently bought 2 pair of shoes that are like an off white but they are super comfortable! Been wanting to put some color on them, watching this tutorial gave me some confidence, can't wait to try it out!

Thank you so much for this tutorial I just got done Hydro dipping some crocs for my bridesmaids for their gifts. They wanted to wear crocs to my wedding and I told him they couldn’t so they’ll love these for the reception. I used the wedding color so they’ll match the bridesmaids dresses.

I just hydro dipped my pair of vans and i was wondering if the max shield keeps paint from cracking when wearing them. does anyone know what would be the best coat to prevent cracking/creasing?
Maxsheild helps protect them but I’m not sure what solution is best for creasing. Maybe be careful with how you use them, like don’t exercise wearing them? 🤷🏻♂️

the tape will help make sure that no paint gets inside, so its just personal preference!

Dude I have tried hydro dipping like 10 times and it never works, I think it is because I need to use lighter colors and different water temperature 🤷♂️
