Kasher was uploading boring repetitive stuff and the fans kept telling him bring the old him back but he said he couldn’t. His latest stuff is as good as his 2019 run.. I always felt like their was a certain plateau that scam rap and their artists could reach.. I think the biggest thing that held the sub genre back is the song structure (no hook/chorus). I always felt that’s was one of the biggest reasons labels didn’t wanna sign other scam rap artists. Teejay tried to switch it up the direction of his music (imma guess at the labels request) with Punchin and Moshpit but both of those records flopped

i feel like the labels have heard all his music already along with x6 and they’re simply just not willing to take the same risk that they would on a regular gangster rapper. Yea in the modern time with social media and everything you honestly don’t need a label of you make good music have strong fan base and can book yourself for shows you can make a lot of money it’s easier than it’s ever been. The thing about a label is they already have the money to do just about everything the main thing is promotion and marketing along with having influence among the industry so it’s usually easier to come up with hit records. But they usually owe everything including your music catalog an what anything you make it’s theirs and they just usually pay you in advance along with all the perks you owe from travel blah blah blah. That is unless you negotiate a deal with you having some ownership in your content. That’s good thing about independent is usually you own 100% of your content and will have royalties for life off it unless you sell it.
