    You should also use a plastic adhesion promoter before the primer if you're painting a plastic front lip. It will help the primer and paint to stick to the plastic even more than just scruffing it up with sandpaper.

    I need to repaint the spoiler on the 16 Mustsng GT I just bought. The previous guy did just a crappy rattle can job; looks horrible on an otherwise beautiful car. This finish is exactly what I want. This video helped with some tips, thanks!

      The key is prep the masking if any and sanding is the most important part. It’s also better to apply all the coats in light coats. Wet coats don’t come out that good. I painted an entire car with aerosol cans sanded just like I had a gun and compressor then took it to a guy who owned multiple mechanic shops and has been painting for 6 yrs and he didn’t even know I used aerosol cans until I told him. It was also my first time ever painting a car.

    Well, it been over a year since any comments have been made. I am in the process of Modifying and Painting a front splitter on my 67 L71 Corvette Coupe. The color is Marlboro Maroon. Hoping for a color match but because of the underside location of the splitter, I'm not overly concerned. I will follow your steps which are greatly appreciated!

    I was hoping to get some advice on how to fix my front lip spoiler but I did the exact same as you did. Looked stunning when it was done! Unfortunately the paint started cracking as soon as it first touched the road. It created cracks that went all the way up to the bumper. I'll have to remove the paint and come up with another way to paint this. Everytime that thing scrapes a tiny bit it keeps getting worse 😐

    • @lfranco0070
      @lfranco0070 Před 3 lety

      Use a plastic adhesion promoter after the initial plastic scuffing, then you can primer or paint. I recommend "SEM 39863 Plastic adhesion Promoter" (1 light coat and 5 minutes later a wet coat) 5 minutes after that you can prime or paint. Also, make sure your paint has a flex additive so it won't crack due to plastic flexing and temperature changes. Best of luck!

    • @Dannyar10

      @@teslaownersonline5805 gotcha. So you choose to say it that way even though the correct pronunciation is "prah-sess". Always confused me. Just an fyi there's no A in ostrich but it's pronounced "aw-stritch" not "oh-stritch"

    Good day Mr. Trevor Page,
    I would like to ask you a question please, apparently you know him personally Elon, could you please ask him a question about FSD, why doesn’t he do like Adobe, Photoshop, lease monthly FSD, I’m like you and Canadian it would cost me $10,800 to purchase, I own my model of three long-range dual motor since December 2019, I change vehicles every year, I’m looking to purchase this year and the month of December again the model Y, I’m not going to invest $11,000 for FSD, and do it again this year, in my opinion, it is not the right way, I think personally if he were to lease monthly the FSD, he might have a couple of hundred thousand Tesla owners, would be happy to be able to lease the FSD, thank you for taking the time to read this I appreciate very much your videos on CZcams, again thank you hoping to hear from you, have a good day bye-bye.
