    Dustin Freeman gets lost in tech trees all the time. By day, he builds new embodiment technology at Facebook Reality Labs. By night, he works on telepresence LARPs. He's Canadian, but lives in New York.
    Speculative fiction often postulates an alternate technology tree from ours, due to a different culture, or available resources, or even alternate physics. On the other hand, most games, proc gen or otherwise, treat technology trees as fixed. There are rare exceptions. This lighting talk will talk about Dustin's search to procedurally generate technology trees in a meaningful way.

    Really great talk. I can see this improving replay-ability a lot in rogue-likes, strategy games.
