KAVAN Swift S-1 - Werner Kohlberger | 2400mm ARF

  • We proudly present the newest aircraft in the KAVAN hangar, an officially licensed semi-scale of the top Polish aerobatic glider Swift S-1 with a wingspan of 2400 mm. In two colour variants.
    KAVAN Swift S-1 is made of highly durable expanded polyolefin (EPO) with thorough carbon reinforcements. It is powered by a KAVAN C3548-750 brushless motor with a KAVAN R-50SB ESC. The ailerons, rudder and elevator are controlled by a total of 4 KAVAN GO-17MG servos. To power all onboard electronics, use a LiPo quad cell with 2200-2700 mAh capacity and a load capacity of at least 30C.
    In the ARF set, you will find a finished EPO foam fuselage, wing and tail surfaces with the motor, propeller, controller and four servos installed, and an instruction manual.

    Kavan ... Alpha, Pulse, T Shark and now this Swift : nice range of gliders and very-very beautiful semi scale planes. Can't wait to read the technical evaluation and test reports of this new model.

    Got my Kavan Swift and maidened it a few days ago. All went well, 5 mins in and on 4th attempt at a good landing, the plane tumbled to the ground landing on its back snapping the rudder clean off. The aileron clevis had pulled out. Not enough glue and the foam it was stuck to was slick. The glue they use is more a white silcone sealant. The clevis should really be glued and screwed into the ailerons and elevator. Esp for such large control surfaces and a fast paced plane. Told the hobby shop and they've sent photos of the plane. I hope Kavan back their product up and give me some good news.

      @kavanrc just an update for ppl reading this.. turns out Kavan think I should've been able to spot the inferior product and checked that the glue was insufficient before MAIDEN flight.. it flew fine for 5 mins and eventually pulled out. Also Kavan think that this was a tip stall (on a glider) and the pulled out aileron control horn is a result of the crash. Btw the rudder control horn also pulled out as a result of the crash as it landed on its back snapping and decapitating the rudder off. There was no damage to to the wing what so ever. So they either say I should've noticed the lack of glue and it broke due to tip stall (pilot error). Seems like you just want to shove the blame on the customer 100% in all situations. If you can't back your products then what are we ment to do? Record every flight? Its very easy for a company to just blame pilot error everytime there's an QC issue that leads to a crash. It's stuff like that that sours the hobby. I'll never be buying a Kavan product again and I'll never recommend the product to anyone on any of the online platforms I'm part of.

    Fullspan ailerons??? ( Ailerons + flaps)...those rolls looks so eeeeasy in that plane....!!! Any specific change?? Looks GREAT

      Yes, it has Ailerons only, which take about 80% of the wing's width. The surface is big enough to quickly roll or comfortably land even without airbrake/butterfly mix. Equipment-wise the main change is better and stronger control servos. You can read all the details about the Swift S-1 on kavanrc.com!

      Hello team Kavan.
      What EXPO values do you recommand?
      I am trying 40% for low rates and 60% for high rates on the 3 surfaces AIL, ELEV, RUDD.
      Swift is very reactive model.
      Need to set exponential values.
      To read you.

      @@JPh35 That seems good. If its still too reactive, set dual rates with it too (Lower this maximum travel distance of the servos)

    Non conosco il marchio kavan, ho visto che c'è il Bristel B23 1.6m pnp in EPO, me lo consiglieresti?

      Se vi piacciono le caratteristiche della semi-scala e avete un terreno piatto e rigido da cui decollare, sceglietelo. Potrete sicuramente godere di voli rilassanti, anche in condizioni di scarsa luminosità.

      Not for the Swift. Only the front wheel can be optionally installed. It is included in the package and available separately, should it get damaged.

    Ya lo Tengo y abrir la CAJA para Sacarlo a Respirar. FUE UN SUPLICIO Para no Romper el Corcho, del Estuche SOBRE TODO, NO LO DAÑÉIS O ROMPÁIS, Sirve de estuche
    para guardar el avión y te lo PROTEGE de Golpes.

      @@kavanrc Pues Mira ya se PORQUE ¿? Este avión no tiene su Vídeo UNBOXSING, Es Muy Difícil, de Sacar de su estuche (Parece ESTAR HECHO CON
      MUY MALA INTENCIÓN) Para que el Nuevo Dueño SUFRA POR/para SACARLO y VERLO. El AVIÓN no tiene la Culpa de que Multiplex meta sus aviones
      en sacos de Verduras o PATATAS, "La CAJA" se ABRE MUY MAL y Repito, "Dificulta su Apertura y USO, como CONTENEDOR de la Aeronave a RC".
      Este Problema, ya lo ARREGLE, ABRIENDO EL CARTÓN, Por el lado sin Corcho-CONTENEDOR, Con un CORTE de CÚTER y ENCINTANDO los ESTREMOS,
      en plan REFUERZO y hace de TAPA, después del Corte ESTO YA NOS PERMITE UN ACCESO Perfecto, Para Sacar y meter el Avión, en su ESTUCHE.
      Un ABRAZO y Espero que la IDEA Te SIRVA ...A el Avión es PRECIOSO en AZUL, lo montare, lo Pesare y Programare en mi X20.... Me gusto mucho
      el DETALLE de Las Bisagras en Superficies Móviles de ALAS y Profundidad.. Solo le Faltan unas Tapas en los Servos de Alerones.
