- New York Knicks rumors are centered around an update on Utah Jazz big man Walker Kessler. Knicks trade rumors are that the Jazz asking price has been revealed. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Jazz are asking for at least one 1st Round Pick in the NBA Draft for Kessler. Teams had offered two first-rounders to Utah in the past couple of weeks and were rebuffed according to the reports. Accept…. Big deuce fan but we need size. Kessler is young on a rookie contract and I feel has a higher ceiling than Hartenstein . You don’t kill it in FA by getting Bridges and bringing back OG then be irresponsible with finalizing the roster leaving us weak at the center position. We cannot count on Robinson, we all know he’s not capable of staying healthy. He is also a liability on the offense of end. This Knicks front office is the best we’ve had in a long time , I would hope they know they cannot roll into the season without addressing the center position. If Leon Rose can somehow get creative and bring in that last piece we would have a legit chance next year. We would be able to compete with any team in the NBA.

Protected vs unprotected isn't as critical where the picks are projected to land. An unprotected pick from Boston next year isn't as good as a top three protected pick from San Antonio.
The Knicks need to be wise with these two 1st rounders they have. They won't be able to spend another for a couple of years.

I don't get it. You talk about how great Kessler would be and say he's probably worth 2 first rounders, but then think Ainge needs to "grow up" and should take less than that and only get a protected first.

No way Utah/Ainge got 2 unprotected first round picks for BACKUP non all star non DPOY non all nba player and did not take the deal. Stop playing games take Sims or McBride and 1 first round for BACKUP not STARTER Kessler. He’s been in the league for 2 years and he’s not a starter. Knicks pivot to go get Richards from Cha for Sims and second round pick which is much cheaper. The FA list is getting shorter and if the backup C is not there. Get Daniel Theis who can replace Achiuwa if Achiuwa signs elsewhere or lock up Achiuwa and get Richards from Cha. Ainge can keep Kessler who might not be as good as advertise and stick it to Ainge😂

I feel the Knicks will resign Brunson now for 4 years and Knicks can save 113 million for other players. They can use that to sign Randle or a player to names later for 140 million 115 guaranteed 4 years player option in the 4 year. Lock in on a good center for 3 years would cause this team to be able to keep Brunson Bridges Randle & OG for 3 years. That alone with the young talent in Koleck Pacome & Hakipurti could help out on the back end of the roster while the bench are filled with healthy young talent of Donte Hart McBride. The Center will be a low key backup around the contract of 4 million and also not Resigning Precious to me.
