Elf factions "suffer" from the problem of having too many great options for Lord picks.

I HATE Dark Elf culture and society. But I LOVE Dark Elf army units. Bleakswords, Dreadspears, and Darkshards make my day. Darkriders too. Awesome aesthetic and designs, and solid playstyle. Also the only faction with snek waifus.

Remember the days when Morathi was debuffing melee attack by -18? Wild times man.
Darkshards are super underrated, basically a gun with an arc and bringing the ror version lowers missile block chance so you can just demolish a front line even if it has shields

In the random idiocy tradition of CA balancing, they nerfed the Morathi auras into the ground. Literally the only impactful auras in the game. CA said in the patch notes "this should make Morathi less frustrating to hit." It was so stupid I still remember the words.
I think they should separate MP and campaign balancing.
@@Debilinside That is a very common argument, but considering how CA has patched things so far, we will never get there sadly.
6:12 no Turin, the Black Guards would not be able to fight off The Severed Claw with Chaos Warrior support. In fact just The Severed Claw alone will put them in the dumpster :) I ran a few tests and Tzeentchy Bois win every time with around 20-30% HP left, sometimes not even losing a single model. Yeah, The Severed Claw is just that good. It is also the more expensive of the two (200g more).
Wish we saw more elite chaos builds that are not just take 3 chosen, swords of chaos and the so damn cool.
Love the Momrathi choice, I tried her in recent tournaments but didn't get the wh2 feeling

i would love to see hydra do well ^^ hydra is such a cool unit with such cool sync anim. its just sad its stats are so bad on the def side compared to their cost and speed.
honestly hydras shouldnt have healing caps, their leadership is low enough to make it easy to break one off and you can burst kill it, but you can attrition a hydra bc its a hydra attrition is literally what its made for ;)
you would think the old warhammer 2 debuff stacking would work great on the objecte points though

Great game! Nice to see Vengeance for Anvilgard. I wish the Dark Elves via the cities of Sigmar in the age of Sigmar were better. I've got a full army of them and they just disappoint me lol

I loooove DE , i love the play style hit and run and charge in full rampage
DE is quite a specialist rooster, every unit is very good in one situation (even bleakswords) and if the situation is not in your favor : just run away, like my ex-girlfriend

This was a peak Delf replay if I ever saw one. Using all their various tools well, and seeing Mamma Morathi do her Slaneesh thing to chaff - its just like old times! Also WHAT IN THE WORLD, THEY CHANGED COLD ONES' PASSIVE WHEN? Have I really been playing WH3 for all this time without noticing :(
Khainite units seem kind of trash in comparison to bog standard sairs and blackguards w dinorider support.

I can't think of another faction with a campaign playstyle that is as different from its MP playstyle as the Dark Elves. DE campaign is all about its elite units with insane attack stats, DE MP seems to always end up being death by a thousand skirmisher cuts. I don't like it.
imagine fielding a feral beast DE army with 5 Bear stacks and feral carnos
AI is dumb enough that finesse tools are unnecessary to outmanoeuvre them, and brings such massive numbers that said finesse tools simply cannot pull the weight needed - you need copious brute force. That is why most skirmish units like dark rider crossbows and hand crossbow corsairs don't see much use in campaign.
Magic is the same. In multiplayer, vortex and wind spells are certainly useful, but precision tools like spirit leech are also prized because taking out your opponent's high value lords can be game winning. In campaign the brainless AI will often cheerfully suicide its lord for you, making tools like spirit leech entirely obsolete.
@@ashisunblade I think that the main issue is that the AI will undervalue them in autoresolve because they can't use them properly so you'll have to manually play every single battle and that'll get annoying by turn 150
i dont think morathi is our of meta, i think shes just out of popularity, that said, very boring build around her unfortunately, no eye catching pieces.
Team nurgle on the other hand was playing for the people.
