For those saying he could have ducked with the others soldiers, that’s probably a fragmentation grenade. Meaning, it lets out sharp ends of metal bars when it explodes. Most people think you are safe once you are outside of the explosion radius but a sharp metal end going at 200mph will definitely slice you and injure you (potentially killing as well). Which is why soldiers would cover the grenade, it’s to protect the teammates from the sharp edges as they will be stopped by the body covering the grenade
if you get out of range and lay on the ground you are VERY unlikely to get hit by a fragment that was the stupidest thing i have seen in a movie there was plenty of time to move away and lay down
"Potential" damage sounds reasonable collateral than a definite loss
@@Iquestionandseekanswers Actually not, an injured soldier equals to 7 soldiers off the battlefield for logistic purposes. Now imagine an entire squadron injured/dead. Being injured on the battlefield drastically reduces your chances of ever setting food on the battlefield ever again(either death or lifelong injury)
In some other universe the grenade would be real💀
All jokes asides, whoever did this during the wars is an absolute legend. Nothing more honorable than putting your life on the line to save other lives.
Its upseting what it takes to be a hero some times being selfless

Right. But not in training at home base. That's just idiotic
