The late and long nights of Portugal's Festival da Canção are officially back with the broadcast of the first Semi-final.
Broadcast live from RTP's studios in Lisbon, 10 acts took the stage hoping to convince both the public at home and the jury that they should be coming back on 9 March to perform at the Festival da Canção 2024 Final.
In the first round Rita Rocha, Nena, Perpétua, Iolanda, and João Borsch were the chosen ones taking into account both the jury points and the televote points. In the second round, the public had total control and decided that Noble should join the lineup.

I'm glad you reacted to João's music and not just Iolanda's.
She reacted to her before
João Borsch is my favourite to go represent us this year. Thanks for reacting to his live performance too ❤
I love this, it’s different from everything!!!!
I agree with you. The end of the song needed something to make it differ from the beginning, probably some fast arpeggios with synth and more percussion, maybe also double bassy Kick in the drums to give it Huge boost. However ... my favorite is still Iolanda "Grito" :)
The thing I found while listening to this song is the end sounding like the beginning makes me want to listen to it again on a loop
This is my favorite ❤
He was great, maybe needs more attitude, more drama as it’s a dramatic song. Although my heart belongs to Grito by Iolanda 😅
I love this song!
Personally i really like João Borsch's song but seeing the popularity of Iolanda's song, i believe she will be send to the ESC, which is a good choice aswell
My personal winner. Iolanda was overrated and won't have a lasting impact at Eurovision. He's like Nicolas from JESC 2021 but grown up!
I really hope this wins. odds not looking good
GRITO ❤!
Please react to rita rocha pontos finais. Her performance is incredible
My personal winner for portugal 😍❤️🖤🤩
I feel like one or two dancers could add a lot to the last chorus in terms of keeping us on our toes, but I can't understand at all why people are rooting for Grito over this...
i agree with you that its missing a drop! it kind of builds up into nothing, if it wasnt for that it would definitely be my favorite one
I love your reaction. This is my favourite out of our selection. Unfortunately the ballad lovers are too noisy.
They certainly are! 😅 (Also snobby & elititist, calling some songs already in Semifinal 1 "trash", while Grito is supposedly "art"... 🙄 That kind of attitudes make me dislike Grito already, as a non-Portuguese, TBH.)
I hated the back stage but now i get it. The micros are as suturas que rebentarao pelas costuras!
This will be a Nq, best option is Iolanda.
Como ? A musica da Iolanda é a muito genérica, esta musica é a unica chance que temos
I find his voice a bit irritating but this is the 2nd best song from the 1st semi no doubt.
Between João and Iolanda, what's your favourite??
cancão like cansau not cansio where did you see an "I" and where is the last "a" gone? good video
i really like joao but if we do not sent iolanda we just made the wrong decision, grito its just on another level
I’m Portuguese but I really don’t understand the hype behind this song. Like it’s not bad but I feel Iolanda’s performance was more of a ‘whole package’ for esc
It's because Iolanda's song is more of a ballad, akin to what Portugal normally send but this is rock!
@@TheManInBlueFlames fair enough ig
And I don't understand the hype about Iolanda's song 😂 (I'm not Portuguese though.)
@@florenna fair enough tbh. It is just another ballad ig nothing too exciting
Porque o staging da Iolanda dá dez a zero a este. Mas se esta tivesse um staging à altura não seria inferior a da Iolanda...simplesmente um estilo diferente.
Eurovision 2024 is already overly saturated with this “genre fluid” type of entry .. I personally don’t see it competing with the likes to Switzerland, Croatia and Netherlands.
Iolanda stands a far better chance for Portugal 🇵🇹
Canção = cansau not cansio??
João = Joau not Roaon
