- Stephen Charles served for 25 years in the London Fire Brigade, retiring in 2018. After an amazing career, Stephen became an author and had his first book published, 'Blood, Soot and Tears'. His book was so well received, that he set about writing his second, which was entitled, 'When The Bells Go Down'. This gripping podcast sheds some light on Steve's experiences, serving in one of Britain's busiest brigades.

Love to all Emergency workers! Big up for being able to sit and talk about issues! Respect Stephen! My Dad's Cousin was at Blackwall in the 80's and what he saw drove him to drink and in the end he drunk him self to death, lovely Man wife and 3 kids still loved and missed. As for people promoted in the wrong position? Seems to happen more and more in lots of industry now and I would think an organisation where the government run and can make up rules to meet the public's thoughts and idea's must be a nightmare! Yes what the public thinks matters but unless they are in the job they should just stick to an opinion and leave the workers doing their thing. Cracking Vid! Cheers Stephen, Chris & Luke 👍👊❤

The fire service like all the military and the navy etc , definitely has been ruined by governments jumping on the diversity band wagon
in the fire service especially, like reducing the height requirement, that meant certain crew members, wink wink, weren't tall enough to release a catch at the back of the fire engine to get the ladder off, banter has been banned , which good or bad, leads to team building, the paradox being, you only got coated if you were liked , it is a shame that like all instituitions , have seen their history revoked because of woke, if it aint broke don't fix it , Stephen is the last of a dying breed
