I'd say a majority of people are having the same luck getting cards.
As a novice miner the 3070 and 3090 are not great cards for mining.

3070's in my area are listed locally at $1400.
Meanwhile 2080 supers are $600. Lol

I signed up for a 30 series FE alert group , 1 day later I managed to snag a 3060 ti at MSRP.
If u want a gpu at a reasonable FE cards are your only option it's not like they are bad , they are freaking great
I've been trying for every drop for like 5 weeks straight. Finally got a Zotac 3070 twin edge on NewEgg. Then, of course, got a MSI 3070 on best buy the next day. Ended up canceling the bb order because NE got to my place faster. Good luck y'all. The 1% success rate seems super accurate.

In my country graphics cards and computer parts in general are messed up price wise. After all the import duties, taxes and tariffs, the 'MSRP' price of a 3070 is around Rs. 55,000 (roughly $800 USD) and on top of that the scalpers have made it even worse. The prices of these go up to 1 Lakh Rupees (roughly $1500 USD) and plus it's out of stock everywhere, so we can't even buy it at the high prices.

I’ve been looking in my area. Haven’t seen any under $900. Been wanting to build a PC, but ended up just grabbing a laptop for a decent deal with ryzen 9 5900 and 3070.
I live in california and have been wanting to get an rtx 3070 none ti, but they want $1,250 at the moment, the ather day it was listed for just over a thousand. The ti version is $1,450 those are both gigabyte cards there are some models that are a little less, and some a little more. So I guess I'll keep saving until I have all the money together. in early 2020, I bought a AORUS model 5700XT on sale at my local computer store for $599.99 to upgrade from my GTX 1070, fast forward to now and I just placed a pre-order for a EVGA 3070 from my local computer store for $829.99 and recently sold my 5700XT last week on eBay for $1350 CA and am now using my 1070 again while I wait for my 3070.

I've won the newegg shuffle 3 times. first one was a msi 3070 suprim, second one was a powercolor red dragon 6800xt, and the third one was a msi 6800 gaming trio. It sucks that the lottery system has to even exist, but I appreciate newegg for implementing it so that normal folks have a chance to buy them

Gigabyte cards lack rear thermal pads on most models so the ddr6x gets too hot and throttles the card when mining. Can happen when gaming too

I have a microcenter 30 minutes away from me and they had a 3090 for $2k but no other 30 series card on the shelf until I asked an employee where they had me come to the back for 2 Msi ventus 2X and 3x 3060 ti’s. Out of sight but you just have to ask

Mining loads are often less straining on a GPU than gaming, so often a card that was mined heavily on will last longer post-mining vs a card that was heavily gamed on.
But gaming is usually like 5 hours a day work, while mining is 24hours a day ,the card itself hasnt got any issue with this but the fans lifespan will definitely reduced

I got a used 2070 super from micro center for about $540 ish and I sold it 2 days ago for $475. There was a guy in my area selling a 3070 founders edition with the box for $750, I was able to make it go to $725 which for some people is nothing, I used $250 of my own money and the 2070 was bought by my mom. I used her permission to sell btw. The 3070 is fantastic, best choice I made

Lol, I bought a 3070 on the day this video was posted and I got it at MSRP. Its in India so prices are jacked straight from the manufacturer due to Customs but getting a Founders Edition from Nvidia is no small feat.
