Honestly, one of the most underrated songs in Eurovision by the fandom. Macédomienne was a case of love at first listen from me (which the strings absolutely helped with!), with its intriguing and melancholic vibe. The lyrics, a poetic ode to Philippe's wife, adds color to this romantic song, with beautiful imagery and a compelling story. My second favorite song from 1990, and my all-time favorite Belgian entry.

I’ve loved this song ever since first seeing the Eurovision, and tho I speak French, I had never seen the full written lyric. It’s a true poem set to music. So moving! Thank you for posting and thanks to Philippe 💚

The word "Macédomienne" doesn't exist. It's a pun, between "Macédonienne" (Macedonian woman) and "Mienne" (mine). Very clever and poetic lyrics, my favorite Belgian entry and one of the best French-speaking songs at the contest.
