They never said the entire game was from the ground up. They mentioned a few specific aspects and people went and ran with it. I'm not excusing the company, and there are myriad and one reasons to be dissatisfied with the game, but lying about "from the ground up" isn't one of them.

Can't blame the developers for bad drivers. The game is great when racing is clean. All I see in this video is bad driving nothing wrong with the game.

Quick tip (in case someone didn't know like on 17:05 ) : always check behind before cornering/turn, if you see your opponent keep fast on turning line try ghosting (which rarely people can see it, use your guts if you can't see it happen)

im fine with arcadey control as long still make sense
its smtms too realistic but the opponents arent, kind of unfair difficulty eventually
but by realistic/watching view its perfect many small car physics that make sense, maybe can be more apparent such as dirt or bump etc
And somehow it won racing game of the year (game awards)

I don't understand the appeal of ramming in a game like this. I know it's not a full sim, but it's supposed to be more serious than something like, say, Horizon. Even if I won every single race, I wouldn't be satisfied with my performance if I did it by pushing people off course.

Something related to tires the opponent's tirea were worn out while OP's were still fresh
So the opponent spins out due to that i guess
My tyres were fresh from a pitstop while the guy in front was with worn tyres so isntead of battling for position he just let me pass on the straight -> respect
