It’s game over for Audi’s iconic sports car (Audi TT Final Edition 2024 Review)

  • After a quarter-century in production through three generations, Audi has finally shut the garage door on the iconic TT sports car for the last time. To say Auf Wiedersehen, Ingolstadt released the TT 45 TFSI Quattro Final Edition in Australia late last year.
So Chasing Cars’ Tom Baker took one of the very last examples of the Final Edition for one last spin.
Boasting a 180kW and 370Nm version of the mature EA888 2.0L turbo four, quattro drive and optional 20-inch wheels, the TT Final Edition brings a 5.1-second 0-100km/h promise and a 250km/h top speed.
It launched at a touch under $89K before on-roads, but at the time of writing all but a very few examples of the last TT are spoken for by customers.
While TT might reappear as an electric crossover in future, this is indeed our last hurrah with the design-driven, iconic, combustion-powered, sports car lineage in factory-fresh form.
Farewell TT. You were a charmer!

I think I will really miss this. Final addition and no more ICE TT. Thank you for bringing this up. And you don't get a Golf GTI 4wheel.

The infotainment system and the interior is just peak Audi. I can't stand touch screen and finger prints

True. This and the R8 interior design has barely if not hasn't aged at all. I love it

Tom, in your opinion which is the better drive?
    Audi TT v VW Sirocco?
    Many thanks.

When the first TT came out, it was like it came from another planet! Have owned 2 MK1’s a 2004 silver coupe, a 2002 roadster in nimbus grey with Baseball stiched seats- could just look at them all day long . Also owned a MK3 for 6 fun filled years. Great car, quick , economical and stylish. - good last TT review 😢

The one car I regret selling was the 3.2 litre VR6 with a tiptronic transmission. DFast car with a great exhaust note, but the grandkids couldn't fit in the back. Too bad so sad. Still have the 001-BTT personalised plate. if any Queenslander has a black TT.

Agree that it needs the power of the TTS. Had a 2nd gen phantom black pearl metallic TTS coupe up until just recently. Loved the peppy engine and the classic TT coupe look!

It doesn't have the sound of my Vr6 MK1. Still, I'd take it if someone gave me one as a present.

Audi needs to put a battery in it and make it an EV! 200-mile (300 kms) range will do. Very few of us drive more than 50 miles (80 kms) per day.
