Nice shot little man! I remember 8 years old...my first squrile I thanked Dad for teaching me how to! We had a big hug he gave me 2 more shells and walked away. I bought home 2 more and mom made squrile and dumplings! 52 years ago!!

The relationships you have with your children, first made me cry, so many children dream of having a relationship with their parent or even parents like the one you lovingly and freely bestow out of a true fathers heart. Houston and Emily love their parents but they were shown how to love, by you Daniel and DeeJay. The "memories" you both have shared, made, and built with your three children will be something they will "always" treasure. Seeing Houston's huge smile and the excitement and joy, when he made his shot and it dropped so you could recover it easily. I remember the disappointment he went through last year but yet as his dad and the bestest best friend he will ever have, you never gave up. You continued hunting and searching for the deer. In the end you found it. I know you did everything you could out if respect not only for the deer but also for Houston. I know I am not articulating like I want it to come out BUT you sir are a true example of what a parent "dad" is. Made this momma's heart smile. My son's were mommas boys and they were proud to say it and to show and say in front of anyone that they loved me. Thank you Daniel and Dee Jay for sharing your family with us. Life and time is fleeting. God Bless your family.

I have a son around the same age as Houston and he's autistic he doesn't understand a lot of things that he's really a loving child and Daniel seems like a father that I would strive to be like he's patient he's attentive it takes time and he cares keep it up man
Houston will never ever forget that hunt Daniel! What a good Dad you are to teach him how to handle a gun and to hunt and provide food. It will stay with him for as long as he lives. And he will teach his children.

Daniel, the way you and Houston are and what y’all do is so bittersweet to me! My dad was sick my entire childhood and passed away when I was 7. But he loved doing everything you do! Your channel makes me feel close to my dad. Seeing you and Houston hunting and fishing is just what me and my dad would’ve been like if he would’ve been healthy when I was growing up!
Ouch! My dad passed away when I was 10 years old. Never was able to take me deer hunting. However I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior watching Billy Graham three months before he passed away. What a blessing for him that was.!

He was shaking so bad he was sure the deer could hear his heart beat. He was 16. I don't think it's the age I think it's the hunt. Like you said Daniel Houston had buck fever.🦌👍❤

Houston always be proud of any deer you shoot. Never make excuses because you think someone will give you grief about the of it. If it's legal be proud. Congratulations that's a nice buck. A lot of adults would love to have him.
Congratulations Houston what a beautiful buck. I just love that your family is so much like mine we have always hunted deer here in Colorado and have so many wonderful amazing family memories! You share a wonderful bond with the kids and it's rare nowadays to see. Again congrats on a beautiful buck! 💙
I understand not having a place to let the deer hang. I used to work in a meat shop, and I own grinders, sausage stuffers, slicers and everything to process my own deer. But if its early rifle season or definitely in bow season, sometimes it's just too hot to deal with it as quick as you need. Sometimes a processor is your best bet. walk in coolers even the DIY ones are expensive.
But look out late season rifle and muzzleloader season. Then I break out my old butcher coat and get to work. Cutting meat is very therapeutic for me. Honestly, its my favorite part of the process. I loved working in the meat industry it just didn't pay well enough in my area.
I also loved that father son bond in the field. I would be lyin if I said it didn't make me tear up a little. Congratulations on that buck Houston. Nothing wrong with that small 8 point. Time with your dad out in the woods and meat in the freezer is always a trophy in my book. There are always going to be people critical of what deer you decide to take.
Oh gosh..him petting the dear thanking him for the meat, the moment you two shared and that kiss..goodness sweet sweet memories spent together!

Awesome job Houston! We're from marlow ok. That weather worked out well on the youth rifle hunt, my oldest was able to tag his biggest so far on Sunday evening.
Great way to save on your food bill. I have never tried deer. My Dad hunted but he would not shoot a deer. Dad did hunt squirrel, rabbit, dove, quail, ducks, pheasant. We would help clean what ever he brought home!
I love how close your family is with each other, the fact that Houston will still you that he loves you is the best part of this video!

When I saw the deer blind set up on the Mill Creek property, I was thinking it was your blind on the trailer. I was wrong! I'll bet Houston's shaking was simply adrenaline! Good job, Houston! Thank you for bringing us another "catch," clean and cook. Even paying for processing, it works out to a very reasonable cost per pound!

I am glad for Houston's early success at a deer this year. Valuable skills learned in this day and age. My dad was not a hunter but if I had been keen I could have asked my grandfather how to hunt because he was excellent at it. You see the wisdom in things as you age that you did not see as a young man. If you can hunt and fish then the chances of you ever going hungry are diminished.

I hear ya Houston, my very first deer was a large 6 point I got with a 306 with open sights, at 82 yards. He’s now hanging on my wall. Awesome job Houston!!! I’m so proud of you!! That is not a small buck. Not here in the Sip! And I’m an an extremely picky hunter. I still need to tag me an irregular buck. I might be weird but those are my favorite. ❤

I MADE my hubby watch just because how sweet of a moment Houston and his daddy had. The I love you and a kiss. It reminded me of when my 3 boys were little and all had mullets. Our youngest son is now 31 the 34 and the oldest is 40 lol. We still get I love you's, hugs and kisses. good job little man!

I went hunting with my dad when I was about 13. Never got a deer but had great times with my dad.
