- My niece and I were fortunate to have gotten a private tour of the Fort LeBoeuf Museum in Waterford, PA., in Erie County. The museum details the history of the French and Indian War, also known as The Seven Years' War, especially as it relates to this area. The tour included both the inside of the museum, with various exhibits, as well as an outside area, which features what may be the only statue of George Washington in the world in a British uniform! This extremely informative and educational tour was given to us by former history teacher and Vice President of the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society, Don Pearce. Also, special thanks to Jim Edwards, President of the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society, and VisitErie, the tourism promotion agency for Erie County, who arranged this tour and who are sponsoring this video. This guy/docent is great; articulate, concise and extremely knowledgeable about the entire region, era and backstory. Wonderful, thank you
You're welcome! Yes, Don is a former history teacher, so who better to give us this great tour?
This video is so informative and insightful.
The host is totally understated not only in his knowledge but in his passion and ability to turn facts into a fascinating story.🤔
Very nice museum and historical interpretation. Well done.
Fascinating and SO well done. Congratulations!
My guide, a former teacher, was excellent!
Great History Lesson,l would camp at Lake LeBoeuf in the early 60ties
Nice presentation
As a former history teacher, he was the perfect tour guide.
Thank U for this teaching of our history.
Can U tell me anything about Andrew Byerly, which would’ve been one of Washington’s men. He was German-speaking Swiss, baker, wagon train lead, scout, hunter, diplomat w the natives.
I would suggest contacting the museum directly to get that information.
Where is this museum ? Adres please.
I believe it's 55 South High St., Waterford, PA 16441, which is about 25 minutes from downtown Erie. You can call 814-449-0607 to get more information.
Damn..
No church, no college.
Pretty "God" damned smart nonetheless yoh?
