Nobody talks about lack of basic football skills in our players. Reality hurts but if you don’t accept the reality you are not gonna develop and improve.
Other teams are developing at full pace. You need to send your player to visit better clubs who have best football minds to at least train in a basic football skills and mindset development. This one thing can change entire squad of Indian football. AIFF is doing nothing. You can’t improve by keeping yourself in India. Thats for sure.

Reality is our player lack basis football skills. Simple. Forget about physique. You can tackle physical inability by your basic technical prowess. Look at Japan and South Korea. Few players need to be physically strong not all.

From what I saw yesterday, our players lacked basic football. How to pass, who to pass to, how to take the first touch, hold the ball. When we were going to attack, our players were putting the ball out of the field while trying to pass, even though there was no opposition and no pressing. Even when our players are free, we are not able to give accurate passes. For so many years, such big tournaments have been taking place in ISL and I league, yet there has been no difference in the basics of our players. Literally I can't pick our a single footballer from yesterday's match who had good basics, even Apuia was doing mispass from whom I see a lot of quality and expectations. What is the use of tournaments like ISL when our players do not know basic football and could not even learn the basics from foreign coaches and foreign footballers. The sad thing is not that we lost 3-0 or 5-0, it's that we don't know basic football. We were exposed. It wouldn't have hurt if Uzbek's 3 goals had come from setpieces or playing a high-intensive game. I will say that we were lucky yesterday that they only scored 3 goals, otherwise if they had converted even half of their chances it would have been humiliating.

India needs test matches like it happens in hockey. India needs to play international games outside tournaments all year round against CAFA teams or lower ranked European teams or there is no choice.
India should have a national level futsal league because, Futsal improves a player's skills, confidence, ball control, short passing, vision and shooting/finishing is improved significantly because after every minute there's a shoot and there are loads of goals in a futsal match which increases a team's scoring ability and if we talk about defenders in futsal they are used to hold skillfull wingers and are confident to make fiercefull tackles making a wall of defence
