Excellent demonstration of active flying that is most educational for those of us that have yet to fly such turbulent conditions! Thank You, Sir!
Superb piloting! I was at Roldanillo during Jan - Feb too and had switched back to a 'B' glider, a Swift Six from a 'C' Bonanza. On the whole no real problems as I was flying within my skill level and comfort zone. I witnessed reserve throws and heard of several too. The basic message is fly what you can handle and not what you think you need. It's not worth the 'fear factor'. You can obviously handle the Peak very well. :)
Absolutely! I cannot agree more with your statement about flying the gear that allows you to focus on decision making, not on piloting.
You are quick man! Quick and decisive!
Awesome reactions and skills! Inspiring footage!
👌🏼😎
Great active piloting!!
Every time I ride the ridge to the tower at La Union I just know it's comin.
a real nice relaxed flight :-))))
Awesome piloting😊
I thought I had a high tolerance for flying but thats a different level, think I would prefer to be in the local cafe having a brew.
That cute frontal at 2:58 got me 😂
Yep, loved it too 😁 Also was happy to prevent it from being something creepy and nasty 🤭
@@dymanoidyou were all over it… these cameras are so good at capturing these shots
So active. In control of his place in the air, so in tune with the nature of the sky this guy is tight. Only hope that when I present myself to big sky I am as ready to the wind as @dymanoid.
👏💯🔥❤
Very nice active flying, hard work! When was this?
Ps Sometimes it looks like a reverse puppeteer😊

Wow! You have got imressive piloting skills in this conditiins! To me, it is quite hard to see what you reacting to. Is it shoot or wing pressure? Would love to learn from you
Actually, both. Because of the image stabilization, it's not always clear, but in some clips you can still see the wing pitching or surging forward - that's where it needs to be stopped. In other cases, the airflow causes the wing to lose pressure on one or both sides, so a brake or rear riser pull is needed to keep the wing inflated.
Nice one. Additional request: Can you make a video without image stabilization to get a better feeling of what it's like?
Thanks for watching! It feels very shaky and twitchy! I first tried to turn off the stabilization completely, but then the footage gets too shaky and it's hard to understand what's going on. My camera is attached to the carabiner, and the carabiner moves a lot in rough air because my wing transfers all the air movement directly to the harness without any damping.
wow, high workload! how long can you fly in conditions like this without getting exhausted?
These moments were mostly taken from 7-8 hour flights, so it's possible to get used to the turbulence and keep going. The workload is quite high, you're absolutely right, but there are always some (more or less) calm glides in between, so you can recharge your mental battery. Indeed, when you land after such a flight, you feel quite exhausted, but at the same time very happy!
Well done did you prefer to use brakes or rear steering in turbulent air ?
I usually fly on B's in light to moderate turbulence. When the air gets ugly, I switch to the brakes.
SUPER ,nice skills men
牛逼plus!
Artik 6?
Nope. Peak 6, it's also stated in the video description.
