Dear KTM, you must be kidding us: 105 cv? Same engine of the Adventure? Cheap brakes and 80% same components of the Adventure for this price? Lot of electronic functions as optional? 15 years ago the SMT had 115cv, fully equipped and top components, this is not a real SMT, this is just marketing trying to sell cheap stuff at a very high price... 👎

Dear KTM, is it possible to know if it will be possible to set it up with an oversized windshield and low fender? In the Italian, Spanish, etc. web configurator there is no trace of these two items... 🤷♂

I have my 890 Adventure R and I'm quite pleased with it. If this model were available at the time I bought my 890 I would choose it over the adventure
Uhh, it's a completely different bike thab the 890 Adventure, especially with the R. They don't serve the same buying persona
@@MJVDM the adventure r is actually a beast in the street, you can increase the preload of the springs to +6 and you have a street bike with 21 inch wheels

Better get the 990 SMT, with an powerful, angry engine, real 116 bhp, real Brembos. Get some aftermarket exhaust pipes and have the same weight as the 890…

im surprised ktm hasnt mad a track beast ktm. you know 1000cc engine is a super bike and make 2 editions the brad binder rc1000 and a ktm jack miller 1000cc ktm rc1000. a consumer grade track bike or as a consumer useable road bike. motocross has factory edition but nothing in the superbike line up
They did do a batch but was something like 200k.
I have 990 smt with akrapovic exhaust and dna filter and program and hp is 125 without abs and electronics and brembo brakes. Why to buy smt 890 which is slower and yamaha tracers will laugh with me in the road?

It looks bad in my opinion. I would say it is the worst looking bike of the KTM line up, and that is coming from somebody who has a Ducati 999 (so I know a lot about ugly bikes...).
Quite disapointed about all the fuss with the old SMT, which was superior in engine, and I guess also in touring (where are the panniers ?).
Everybody is waiting for a street legal RC8C with a reasonable price...
I think it looks faaaar better than the adventure models with the belly tank, now that looks atrocious.

Putting 17" rims on a ADV doesn't make it a "supermoto". It's heavy, bulky and expensive. I'd rather have a less powerful engine on a slimmer, lighter machine. Like a 390 SMC: low price and maintenance yet reliable and FUN. Now THAT'S what I'd love to see.
exactly my thoughs. This is "big supermoto", similar to aprilia dorsoduro and ducati hypermotard. Out of them Hypermotard seems the most bonkers. I get the idea for this KTM, this is a tourer but in supermoto-rish trim. Or should we say naked?
Yamaya MT09 also comes to mind.
Supermoto supposed to be light, revvy, at most 70HP, and you should be able to sit on the tank.

This is NOT a SMT, this is a SM/SMR. Had hope for this bike, back to feelings about KTM having an strange concept of touring.

Couldn’t agree more. That’s an SM, not an SMT. What were they thinking? Soooo dumb. I bought the first SMT in 2009 because it was such a smart concept - the ultimate all rounder. Shame it takes KTM 15 years to forget what they knew then. Was waiting for this as I’m looking to change my MV Agusta Turismo Veloce. Hard pass.👎🏽
