    This is the first unit of this type that could everything I want, sound great and not cost a fortune or be too big. Thanks for posting!

    Great little demo! I love that you walked through just a single patch to explain a little about how it works. Very helpful and sounded great!

    Great demo. You've got me intrigued on the GT-1000. Super curious about patching in external effects via effects loop. Can't wait for that next video!

    What a great demo. Lately I'm considering to buy a similar system, to make live performances easier and quicker to set up. I'll definitely put this one on my favorites list!

    Well done and gorgeous tones/playing. You have excellent feel on the instrument.
    I've had my 1000 for a few months now and play it live every week. Did a lot of research prior to the investment and I'm very glad I ended up with this unit. I amplify it with dual Headrush FRFR 108's and the tone is massive.
    One note of interest is the ability to modify the "spread" on the mixer blocks to change the stereo image.
    Appreciate and enjoyed the vid.

    For those that cannot afford a GT-1000 that want a system like this. You can find GT-100s for cheap now. Especially used. They are almost JUST AS GOOD. I saw one on Reverb for $299
    Im still using my GT-100. It does most things the 1000 does and still sounds great.

      I can also add any effect into it’s loop. Can control things on my computer via midi with it.

    Okay...this fine gentleman should work with Boss or digitech to create a pedal for just this type of thing. Ambient guitar and its therapeutic coolness has saved me in more ways than I care to share right now. Please. Work with someone to do an Ambient pedal and apps. It would be righteous cool. Alright? Outta sight!
    COOL!
    BTW...this pedal is absolutely chewy ! Awesome!

    Great video, as always. I got mine yesterday but actually a bit disappointed that they allow you to use 5 delays but ONLY ONE REVERB? I mean seriously? Why 5 delays? And why only one reverb?!

      @TheDilligan Před 3 lety

      Yeah, there's some weird things about the fixed configuration. I hope they change it with future updates. I'd also like to see them replace the funcionality of Manual mode with the functionality of pedalboard mode. Because Pedalboard mode is just better, but I like having access to my patches and saving patches as alternative boards.
      My other beefs are that the Sound Hold effect is unusable and there is no guitar synth. Rather than soundhold, The Boss ME-80 has a Freeze that works perfectly. I'd like to see them bring that back. And also I don't want to own an SY 1000 AND a GT 1000. If they could just put the SY-1 into the GT 1000 that'd be great.

    How can you switch from one tone
    preset to another while playing live?
    Are you going to turn the tone
    selector with your fingers while
    playing live? Or can you do it with your foot
    while playing live?
    Anyone?
    Thanks!

    Curious on your opinion, do you prefer the gt 1000 over the headrush pedal board. Awesome videos!

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 4 lety +1

      That is an interesting question. The signal chain routing options in the GT-1000 are more flexible than the Pedalboard, however, the Pedalboard does not have limitations as to how many of a particular type of effect you can add into the chain. The Pedalboard has an awesome touch screen, which is easier to use than the GT-1000, but the BOSS editing software is very powerful. I have to admit a bias for the Pedalboard because is it using technology from the older Avid Eleven Rack (which I love), but great sounds are to be had from both units.

    I noticed your fv foot volume pedal is in a different position than when you use discreet pedals.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 6 lety

      For this patch, yes. That is one of the nice things about this kind of multi-effects unit. Switching the position of the volume pedal is a lot easier than a real pedalboard!

  • @JeffHendricks
    @JeffHendricks Před 5 lety

    Bill, I'm kind of curious what ever happened to this unit in your lineup. I don't expect it replaced the Headrush (based on your newer videos), so I have to ask, what is it about this unit that didn't satisfy your needs?
    I'll be honest, I'm looking at getting one to replace 95% of my pedals. What really interests me is the MIDI implementation and the routing possibilities (which the Headrush is limited in). Specifically, the ability to run multiple splits and parallels, and separate outputs with "JC-120 fx return" as an option.
    I'm not that concerned about getting the "perfect tone" as I'm sure I can get something usable out of any of the newer modelers. Also not thrilled that it only has 1 reverb, but hey, it has a stereo fx loop for my Hall of Fame 2.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 5 lety +1

      Sounds like the GT-1000 could be a good fit for your needs. To be honest, the modeler I am still using the most is my old Avid Eleven Rack. Because it is in a rack and wired up in the studio, it is very convenient to use with a pedalboard. This is really good for me given all the pedals I am swapping in and out for demo vids, etc. I have been working a lot more with the Headrush Pedalboard in the last month as I am playing a gig in September. After that, I am hoping to get back around to the GT-1000 and take some of things I am learning with the HR and apply it to the GT-1000. Hopefully, a video or 2 will come out that!

    Hey bRo all these features R already available in the GT100 ...i own it N it costs jut a fraction of that one / i got mine 4 less than 300 bucks SH its so cool m@n... the Gt1000 is just a kind of upgrade in a new packaging "Line6 like" which i hate coz Boss should remain Boss IMO N not try to emulate the Helix... to keep moving ahead with competitors selling new products ...it is that simple !!!
    I run mine on KC110 keyboard amp outputing the stereo signal on a ART ProVLA II tube Komp to get that Phat sound ...nam sayin ^-6 coz the numeric processing is kinda boring in terms of dynamic even if i consider that the Boss algos R pretty much organic in comparison to Line6 which has done a big improvement of its @lgos with the Helix serie ...i have also have a Blackbird trial tube preamp + a MXR 10 bands EQ (N transistor booster) at the beginning of my signal chain to shape my tone N get Ze unmatchable tubes' dynamic

    Hya Bill :) Being fairly new to this i was wondering if i would be better buying a few good Boss pedals or a GT-1 ? I can't afford a GT -1000 yet :D I have a zoom multi effects (G7.1) and can't get my head around it at all :D I am thinking afew single effects might help one to learn the parameters etc easier maybe? Excellant video :)

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi Phill - it depends on what you prefer and what works with the rest of your gear. If you are using an amp, I think the value of a big multi-effects unit is a little less than if you are using it as an amp modeler along with its effects.

    A good tube head, a 4x12 cab and obviously a great set of fingers and maybe a couple of pedals for some fun is about all you need in my opinion. Perfect your craft with out all the extras. Axe fx has the 3rd version now for 4 grand. Will be outdated in a year, they already working on the 4 version. Never forget when you go in the studio the engineer will ask you to record raw with no effect and he will add on later. Its been done for years. I can wait for the hate mail.

    • @chordsoforion
      @chordsoforion  Před 5 lety +2

      No hate from me! While my experience has been different from yours in the studio, I totally agree about the value of building up your musical skills without a lot of effects. I myself make sure I play lots of acoustic guitar so that I can focus on technique without distraction.
