I agree, I wish it would have been a console prequel. But I'll take all the Octopath I can get. The fact that we have confirmation of a sequel makes me happy enough to let the smartphone game pass. I'll definitely be giving it a shot at least.

I don't see it ever coming here because of the backlash. If it does, it will be ported to the three big consoles as a prelude to OPT 2 for a 2021 release

    I'm optimistic... That is all

DId they say it will be free? I just read about single player game. I still hope they will make a 10-15 dollars game instead of a free to play game with microtransictions. In that case they should make a switch version too. I know that many people wanted it on other consoles, and maybe that's why they made and android/ios game, but they should consider the switch audience who really appreciated and bought their game. I'm going to keep informed about they incoming title, but if it will have microtransictions, well, they can keep it for themselves. I just hope they will not ruin a good game/serie the same way they did with FF.

You are making a lot of assumptions with no evidence about this game. They did not say anything about micro transactions, being free to play or pay walls. Did any of their cellphone ports have these? Unsubscribing

Sadly for mobile games, if you can download them for free, expect microtransiction. But they can still put the game for a price wiithout them.

Just to follow up, in short, yes, yes they did.
      Kingdom Hearts: Unchained
      Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius
      Final Fantasy: Dimensions
      Demon's Score
In total, they made $858 million in their 2017/2018 fiscal year from their mobile division alone, which is only a couple of million less than the rest of the company combined. Many of their games require a large upfront cost just to download and you find your self faced with essential content missing that you need to pay for... sometimes only minutes into the game.
In addition to obtrusive microtransactions, they're not afraid to release and sell chapters for games, bringing some to cost north of $50-$60.
I'd hate to see Octopath go down that route.
Sorry to see ya go. I hope those who remain are a little more open to some of the videos I make and understand I'm not spouting nonsense lol.
