  • Karma Yoga is a much bandied about flavor of spirituality. Sifu Rohit Arya takes a hard look at what such a Yoga entails, what the famous verses on Karma mean, and how we are too quick to quote Krishna. The full Talk given to the Arya Yoga Sangha on May 28, 2014 at Colaba, Mumbai.

Rohit ji is always coming with a completely unorthodox and highly intellectual interpretation of our culture. There are so many emotional talkers in India who are known as gurus :( Rohit ji`s is the kind of dharma we need in this age. Awesome job !!!!!

I have found that helping others, visiting the elderly, feeding the hungry, etc, is actually an easy way to spiritual growth. The tricky part is to renounce any “good” karma that may come to us as result of such activities. But it is easier than Bhakti, where we don’t experience God in any tangible way; than Raja yoga, where we try to calm the mind, and concentrate and raise kundalini etc, which are all elusive things; and than Jnana, which involves the effort to have knowledge that is difficult. In contrast to these, karma yoga, at its elementary level, helping others with no thought of any personal gain, is easy. You give some money, you visit an old person, you ask someone how they are doing. Easy, compared to loving a god you can’t see, to calming the mind in a busy age, than understanding that I am existence consciousness bliss.

i think karma yoga is the best and necessry ..bcos sooner or later one has to go into the market and learn the social structural life ..otherwise it would end up either pseudo spiritual cool hippies or lazy society ..
