    Based on my time at Parsons, you should only consider the course if you've received a scholarship covering 35% or more of the tuition fee. Scholarships can climb to 75% or potentially higher.

    Hi shellaby! Thank you so much for this video. I’m from India and am looking to apply to the MPS program at parsons for the upcoming spring intake.
    I come from a law background education wise and recently moved into marketing here. I’ve been extremely nervous about taking the leap into studying fashion.
    I’d really like to understand your thoughts on getting jobs post the completion of this course. How difficult or easy is it and how much value does having a Parson’s degree add to getting a job in the US? Or in other countries?

    • @SimplyShellaby
      @SimplyShellaby  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Nandita!! Thank you so much for watching. Your story likes like a girl in one of my classes who came from a law background. So don’t be nervous! There are many in this program with different backgrounds which makes it so special! ☺️ since I’m still enrolled I don’t know what it’s like getting a job after the fact.
      But I feel like my resume is looked at much more now and I have been able to get a lot of interviews with companies! So I think it does help for you to be seen!

      @SimplyShellaby  Před 2 lety +3

      Hi! 😊 Well I work full time and am able to manage the course load. It is a bit difficult as it is a masters degree but I think as long as you can manage your time it’s not too bad.
      Classes are once a week and twice a month on weekends. They are at night during the weekdays and on the weekends it can vary.
      The classes are fun depending on the Professor. It’s fun to be learning about Fashion, but some professors definitely make it more fun and interesting!! 😊 also best of luck with your application!!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

    May I ask what did you major in undergrad? I’m currently studying a totally different thing from fashion in undergrad so wonder if undergrad major matters a lot in mps application!

    • @SimplyShellaby
      @SimplyShellaby  Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Liah, I studied International Business and I was working in a different industry before I applied to Parsons. This program is open to students from different backgrounds. Some past students were in the medical field, law, and other backgrounds. So I don't think your undergrad degree matters as much as long as you have a passion for fashion and are able to apply that to the program.

A lot of schools require a few years of industry experience but I’ll have just graduated from undergrad in London and want to go straight into more education. I’ll have a couple weeks/months of industry experience, but that’s it- will I have a chance of being admitted? I’ll also be 20, and I don’t know if that’s a problem!

      Hey! I read this “Prior Degree Completion
      Graduate degree applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited American college or university or the equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Applicants in the process of completing the bachelor's degree may apply for admission. Admission to the program requires completion of the bachelor's degree.”
      However, I’d reach out to the admissions and see what they say! Since it could be case by case.

      Hi Aliya! Thanks so much for watching.
      I think the online tuition is the same as in person? Don’t quote me on that, but if it is. Then yes it is pretty expensive for just a 1 year program.
      I think it depends what job you want. I want in my job search process now. I think overall fashion doesn’t pay as much as other industries. But hopefully the degree helps and I can get a good return on investment!
