Rodrigo y Gabriela perform “Electric Soul” from their 2020 Grammy Award-winning album Mettavolution-playing Yamaha NX Series acoustic-electric nylon-string guitars.
For more than a decade, Yamaha and Rodrigo y Gabriela have collaborated to create custom acoustic guitars that meet the incredibly dynamic and percussive duo’s unique performance needs. Their input proved especially valuable during the development and refinement of the Atmosfeel pickup system found in the new NX Series guitars, and the NX5 models in particular include additional features based on their preferences and requirements. Here, Rodrigo plays the 24-fret NTX5 and Gabriela plays the NCX5, both featuring solid European spruce tops, mahogany necks, and walnut backs and sides.
