    Your films are highly inspirational and educational for the young model engineer. Sadly I am not young anymore but would have loved these type of films as a schoolboy if they were available. My son who is now 6 is mesmerized with your films. His learning from your films will, I am sure be very useful in our latest steam project. Thankyou.

    If the start windings on your drill are knackered, your in trouble. But its probably a capacitor start motor and the capacitor is faulty. You can get a new one from your favourite auction site for 2 or 3 pounds probably...... just a thought!

      I would think it is the start Capacitor, when I get some time I will fix it. I think I need a better quality pillar drill anyway . . . .

    I'm going to assume that the taps you used in the drill press don't have a female centre in the end. If they did, you could use a spring centre, and a tap wrench on the tap. It's easier than turning the spindle and motor. Mind you, it's probably better to use a mill for tapping with a spring centre
