Ingredients for 1kg
Onion crushed. 4 cup
Green chilli. 100 GMs
Garlic. 70 GMs peeled
Ginger 70 GMs
Curd 1/2 lt
Fried onion 1 cup
Tomato sliced 1 1/2 cup
Coriander paste 3/4 cup
Lemon 1
Salt
Rice. 1 kg
Water double
Ghee. 2tbsp
Coconut oil 2 cup for frying fish and 1 cup for masala
Cardamom. 4
Cinnamon.2 inch
Gloves 4
Garam masala 1 tsp for masala
2 pinch for dum

How many would care to rise at 4am, to get the best catch hooked from Beypore fishing harbour , then take a boat loaded with the very cooking vessels and scoops used by your ancestors, and sail to a remote Kadalundi island inhabited by just 2families.
And then, with Valsala chechis assistance you set up a rustic kitchen against the spectacular back drop of the Kadalundi river, and a rail track within touching distance. .
It was obvious from the word Go, that you were in your element, perfectly at home setting up your country kitchen on the sand banks of River Kadalundi, while you zestfully proceeded to showcase that wonderful Kozhikodan fish biriyani...what a visual treat and what a gastronomic experience!
This uniquely imaginative presentation, is the finest example of extraordinary organizational skills ,seamlessly supported by immense patience, and single minded dedication.

As someone hailing from the Kadalundi region, I am quite speechless after watching this video. You have done a wonderful job capturing the scenic beauty of the region with deltas and mangrove forests and popularizing the local food culture(especially starting from picking up the fish from Beypore/Chaliyam harbor in the early morning to cutting it in the right way, and finally making it to the delicious dish.
