Walk through a rack of 8 ball with me! ~ Short Rail Apparel www.shortrail.com/ ~ Perimeter Billiard Light Discount Code: AMATEURPOOL www.perimeterbilliardlights.com/
Thanks very much for what you do, Josh. Been playing a long time off and on. Folks bought my brother and I a "ply-slate" AMF table back in the early 60s. After the damp basement humidity warped the table, my brother and I had an additional "home field advantage" because we knew the table's dark secrets. Drank a little free beer in college, when I didn't know English from French. Bought a 20 year anniversary 8' Olhausen a year or so ago and donated our dining room table {with my wonderful wife's blessing!} to make room for it. What I really appreciate the most about your videos is that most often you tell us what you're going to do with the cue ball and what your goal is with the shot. You're teaching me how to move the cue ball to my advantage and add another dimension to my game.. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.
At 3:39, I think I would've tried shooting the 11 into the corner with draw to try and get shape on the 12 in the side with the 9-ball as an insurance shot. It's crucial to get the shape on the 12, otherwise the out is much more difficult. If you get shape on the 12, then the 12 leads back to the 9 in the side which leads to the 15 to use as the key ball to the 8-ball.
Josh, to me, very helpful way you describe your plan, including where you want to leave the Q ball for your next shot. I know it’s pretty basic stuff but at my level basics and fundamentals make me better . Thanks for your time in making these videos. Would love to wear a Short Rail shirt, but my gut left me without T-shirt’s many years ago. Ever thought about a short sleeve button shirt for those of us with a more “ portly” physique? 😮
Man, it was like dejavu on that shot you scratched on. Last night at league I had a similar easy hanger that I was going to use inside spin to come in line with an 8-ball shot for me. I didn't scratch but I might as well have. I left the cue ball deep in the pocket rattling the tits. Made my, would have been easy 8 ball very miss able which I did. You're bringing up fresh trauma. Wish I would have watched this video before last night's league I'd like to think if I had watched it, I would have given it the attention that it deserved. Great video Josh always putting out great content and it is nice to see 8 ball patterns worked out differently. We all have certain shots we tend to see better and are more comfortable with shooting. It is always good to see a pattern through the eyes of someone else to see different ways it can be worked out. Keep up the great content and thanks for all the time you take out of your days to provide the content.
Bottom outside for the break, top right on 15 in the corner roll down table, 13 stun right cue ball into 7 into stack, 9 in the side with draw 12 in other side with top right, 11 in corner, 14 and 10 in same corner pocket, 8 in corner
Great job Josh. At 11:10 you hit the 3 ball with stun which caused a lot of cue ball movement off the top rail which almost went too far for shape on the 8. I would have slow rolled the cue ball into the 3 and would have been guaranteed shape on the 8 unless I hit the cue ball too hard and scratched in the top left corner.
That's a great way to play it. I actually thought about doing it that way. Believe it or not, I get some nerves when I do these videos and I just wanted to make sure my stroke was smooth. That's why I played the stun instead
I think when you played the draw shot on the 9 you could’ve instead played a stop shot on the 11, leaving yourself the shot on the 9. Which you could’ve played off one rail for easier shape on the 12. I’m sure you know this but draw shots can be harder to get perfect position with. Not that I don’t think that you could’ve pulled that shot off, obviously regardless of your shot choice, it’s still about execution and you know your own game, strengths and weaknesses better than I. I give you a lot of respect for posting your videos with the mistakes. A lot of online creators like to show only the goods but they seem to forget that their audience are fellow players and we know how hard the game is. I think authenticity is one of the great things about your channel.
Shooting preety good there looks like you are following through better maybe try pausing on last pull back on your stoke before shooting forward. Keep up the videos i enjoy them😊
enjoy watching your videos 👍 i would place the camera at an angle most pro matches do. where there's a one in a million chance you miscue while breaking and purchase a new camera the same day.
@@vj-19 in most of the venues I'm playing in, I don't have the luxury of choosing where to put my camera. Most of the time, there's really only place it'll go (sometimes, I have to create a spot for it)
instead of the 9 ball i would have draw on the red stripe into the bottom close cornor then blue stipe in < close cornor with stun then the brown with the 9 ball left the reason i would go this way is the 9 is a insurance ball to get shape on the 8
@4:11 I would have shot the 11 ball and tried to draw back (possibly into 6 the either full in the face or off the rail and nudging it depending on the angle) and then if you miss shape you can play the 9 ball off the 5 as insurance.
at 3:59 I would have rolled the 9 in which would have only move the 5 a little bit and you could have drawn back off the 11 for shape on the 12 or forward for the 15 and then used stun draw off the rail for the 12.. just my $.02
Is was looking at your aim point on that scratch, said it must be the camera angle, but nope. That's the shit I do when I'm drinking. Nevertheless you shot pretty ok. One of these days I'll get back up there and play a few with you.
I for sure could have, with a little cheat. it was basically the same shot I did, only I added left spin also. The straight top would have been easier to aim on the cheat, though (no deflection with center top! Good call!

Great way to play it!
Nice to see a good honest attempt at a run without the video constantly cutting in and out. Great job.😊
Thanks! That is how all of my pattern play videos are (uncut). Appreciate you watching!
Thanks, Josh. Watch all your CZcams videos. Enjoy them and your personality.
Thank you Mark! I appreciate you

I haven't thought about it, but I am now! Thanks for watching and check my website in a few days. I'm see if I'm able to get a button up
Love the "Top Gun" reference.

Thanks, my man.. I mis-judged the deflection (and, therefore the aim point). I do it far too often. Thanks for the kind words!
keep practicing and be creative 👍👍👍👍

Thanks, man! I feel the same way. I hate it when creators try to make it look like they never miss. It's a bit annoying

We're not even counting that one! Lol 😂

Thanks, jack! I've tried that pause in my backswing (like the Chris melling stroke).. it throws off my timing

@@Amateur_Pool cool ..! I thought you had the setup at home.
4:00 Four stop shots. 11, 12, 9, 15. 8 in the side. My thought.

ya, I adjusted too much for deflection. Mis-judged the aim point!
7:10 Were you straight enough that you could just use top? That brings you to the top rail and would give you better shapess on the 8.
