Picked up a '98 Cobra ragtop, 29k miles, had it shipped to S. Fla, such a blast driving with the top down! Car basically needed nothing, but did install new shocks, nitrogen gas does not last for 25 years! Added Flowmasters, aluminum drive shaft and 3-row radiator. That 4-cam 32-valve engine revs real nice. I have a '23 C8 Corvette but actually enjoy driving the Cobra more, with it's excellent 5-speed manual...

Most of us that run nitrous use a 75-100 shot just to test and make sure the system is working correctly lol. 150-175 should be no issue just watch timing and fuel. It’s really not till the 200+ that things start to get a little more hairy. Keep the videos coming Onyx looks great 👍

I inherited my mom's 95 gt vert 5 speed, I had used it several times in the last 20+ years I always liked it but wasn't in love with it because, Ive always been a hardcore Chevy guy but I can say this 95 has really grown on me since I've had it. Even tho I wanted to inherit it because of the sentimental reasons There was a 5 year period her husband weaseled it out from her b4 she passed but after neglecting it for 5 years he abandoned it when he bounced back to Massachusetts. So I went and grabbed it up. It was sad it was her baby always stored winters it was in excellent shape, he stored it the first winter and the next 4 left it out in a snow the top is rough and leaks it has a good dent in driver's rear quarter lichen was growing on it and leaving it in same spot with the sun beating on it the clear coat is gone on the entire upper edge of the driver's side. It went from a pristine GT to a neglected mess. Now fortunately it's all body n top problems the rest is actually fine it's still 100% rust free and runs fine and other than replacing the original mufflers with 10 series ebay fauxmasters and 1.5" pony parts rear wheel spacers on the best looking imo OEM matte silver 5 spokes and I've installed a compleat audio system with 10" custom sub and 2k amp with upgraded everything else I installed this stuff but other than that it unmolested all original and functioning, ac and cruise control still works fine. I like the idea of carb swap but I don't know if I can bring myself to ditch all the original perfectly functioning efi, it does have the tall gears I think 2:73 I'd like at least 3:55 but the cruise RPM is nice it gets pretty good fuel economy I do daily drive it most of the time sometimes the family caravan where it has really big system in it. But now being an sn95 fan I want an sn95 cobra the idea of that 32valve 4.6 seems appealing but that's way down the road. But I do wanna get the body fixed up and make it a respectably quick daily but with good drivability with the typical heads cam n intake but I'm a newb with parts choices for a injected 5.0, if it was a GM no problem easy I know what good and what isn't. Ford... Got me there's a ton of opinions on cam choice which heads explorer and gt40 or cheap Chinese aluminum's like pro comp or flowmaxx or budget lines of a big name heads.and which intake explorer or aftermarket I don't wanna go through a all the hassle of all that work and expense just to get mediocre results.

Very informative as always in your vids. The True "MEAT & POTATOES" of what we need to know for performance. Although I don't currently own a Mustang, (had 2 1985's and maaannn!!! Don't I miss them) I plan on having another one soon. Actually was looking at owning my 1st SN-95 Last year, a beautiful 1998 SVT COBRA, But used the $ to get my mom through her Cancer treatments, Thank the Lord that she made it through 🙏
But, one day.... I'm gonna find an SN, and thanks to your input...I know exactly how I'd like it set up. Keep the vids and input coming sir.
We thank you, and be safe always 😊

I’ve owned my 96 cobra for 5yrs now and I absolutely love the 4.6 dohc, it’s plenty fast out of the box, but mine had already came with a bigger throttle body, bbk intake, under drive pullies, aluminum drive shaft, 3:73 rear gears with moser 31 spline axles, and muffler delete, suspension wise it had already came eibach lowering springs, and after owning it all I added was maximum motorsports subframe connectors, Bilstein shocks and struts, bbk caster camber plates, front and rear eibach sway bars, steeda bump steer kit, new wheel hubs, and bbk rear upper and lower control arms…I am now in the process of fully building some 01 cobra c-heads I picked up and sending them to get ported and polished, along with a 03/04 Mach 1 upper and lower intake I also picked up, then doing a big bore set up and hoping to hit around 420-440whp n/a and then boost it later. My goal is to have a 8500rpm 4.6 dohc screamer that will make around 1200whp once it’s twin turbo, it’s going to be a roll race car with sequential gearbox

Pretty Car, Mine's a NE SN-95. I've really always considered my chassis the same as yours, heck we're basically a fox 2.0 lol. One Mod i really like is fixing up the rear end bushing and stuff. I think this is kinda a ford issue but upper bushings that like to store energy in turns and can make the rear end feel squrrly. They have these a special kit that fix that and make the rear way more fun and consistent. that with a full bushing refresh brought mine back to feeling new. I think getting the car nice and planted is always my first order of business because I was taught HP is just a number until you can get it to the ground. That and I'm not going to push a car as hard that goes wonky if the rear end steps out wrong. I'm also bias I like to do road course with my little pony.

They can be built to make power but not cheaply. I myself have a 2002 Gt vert. The motor is a police intercepter engine . I have done some boltons . Cams are next ...they where not cheap , for a set cost over 600.00 but . I can make around 270 rwhp . I like the 5.0 v8 , the 4.6 .

I bought it for 5500, after some hard driving I found the transmission was t in good shape, so my next mod is either gonna be wheels and a lowering kit, or a transmission rebuild or replace. (Tranny only acts up at rpm’s above 3500, refuses to shift, and when it finally does, it screeches into the next year, it’s automatic)

@@JavierTorres-du5nq I just bought a '96 V6 specifically to prove they can be turned into good cars (without swapping in a V8) .. doing a series on my channel.
I don't expect you to watch it but the TL:DR is you gotta think of them like a 5/4th scale Miata, instead of a muscle car. If you treat 'em like a lightweight little road tripper they're awesome just start out with the right expectations. And regear them 2.73 gears are a crime.

Don't hate...just my opinion...but lose the steering wheel, the aftermarket gauges and that opening music selection. Headlights are an absolute must, especially with the aftermarket options. I think there are plenty of factory-ish wheel options for cheap. Suspension is great idea as is brakes. I wouldn't go with a carb setup, but it is cheap. There are plenty on used centri blowers online for cheap. Thanks for a good video and not being negative on ya!

The best way to spend $5k for an Sn95 mustang. From the start Buy a cobra! Already ls swapped, avoid a 2v unless that's what you really want but for that price it better have a nice power adder. That's just me though...

How to spend 5k. A 408 stroker kit for a 351 block, set of trick flow heads a cam and a cheep set of headers. You'll have over 500 dependable horsepower. Then go beat the hell out of it. Then later you can boost it and your in Hellcat territory.
