Ted Cassidy was the MAN! The Adams Family was probably the best most wholesome show ever on TV. A loving, nurturing family that encouraged their children not to judge others. Always enjoying life no matter what came their way, generous and full of humor. Compare that to the snarky self centered crap that TV has been shoveling ever since and it's enough to make one weep.
And let's face it, Gomez and Morticia are a relationship goal. A married couple, with kids, who are as stupid for each other as the day they met. I want that.
@Daniel from Texas Yup. That was the whole point of the 1960s series and they did it so well, many never realized its social satire. It was subversive and that's why I loved it, even as a kid. The ones who acted and looked weird were the happiest, most successful in their relationships, and good people while their fellow citizens, who looked very normal and were a facade of social acceptability were actually miserable and were bad spouses, parents, and children and often were greedy, underhanded, dishonest, or downright criminals.
Oh wow, I always remember that episode as it was SO out of left field when that happened. I was maybe 7 or 8 when I first saw it, and it just stunned me to see him move like that!

I love how Thing is just a guy under the table, reaching out through a box. The FX are astounding! And yet, he still gets down. Don't let anyone tell you you can't dance!
That was the original plan for Thing. He didn't start out as a separated, sentient hand. Originally he was just a creepy member of the family who hid in small places and only stuck his hand out. Played by the very same actor who played Lurch
