LOL Yeah. I know what you mean. But she meant it like "show 'em who's boss". But still fits perfectly with today's slang... *edit* And that her dance moves were BOSS.
Teddy Cassidy was a comedic genius. Incredibly hilarious. Teddy trying to pretend to dance is soooo funny. He became so awesome they named a song and a dance after him called the Lurch.....priceless.
In the first part, little Wednesday "Watusi" Addams is dancing to Lurch's hit record, which consisted of him grunting over discordant music. In real life, there was an actual record called "The Lurch" on which he spoke various lines and also made noises in his distinctive ultra-low voice.
In an interview John Aston said he believed Gomez and Morticia were the most real couple ever shown on television, because it was clear they actually loved one another. (It didn't hurt that he and Carolyn had the hots for each other as well) When you see the fire between them.... it's real.
Ted Cassidy was Lurch and there is a interview with him from late 70s, he was in several westerns and tv shows. His height really made his character and his makeup made him unforgettable.
@@lloydkline1518 It's funny, it feels like the characters are portrayed pretty differently in the movies but I actually like them both for different reasons. Before I watched the show I didn't think Raul Julia could be beat but now I"m not sure who I prefer. They both bring so much charisma to the roles.

Both Wednesday and Lurch have got mad moves. Genius to feature lurch who you would never expect to have such incredible dance moves makes it all the more hilarious and for a little girl Wednesday Addams certainly busts I move as well she's got rubber legs.
@Peppa Pig I don’t find it political though. Take a look at the recent shows and you’d realise the same thing, unless you’re woke yourself. All the new series are either being powered by woke propaganda and desperately trying to represent every minority, strong female characters this that blah blah.
Jenna Ortega incorporated part of this dance into hers in episode 4 as her inspiration. RIP Lisa Loring, the original and best of all portrayals of Wednesday Addams.
Thanks for the clip...brings back so many memories..Gomez and Morticia brought the heat. They were excellent role models for a couple esp in this shitcom world of stupid husbands/sarcastic know it all wives/bratty kids. You really couldnt go wrong emulating these folks...they supported each others individuality..had a zest for enjoying life..and treated outsiders with respect. And of equal importance- they could dance! My nickname in my family growing up was Pugsley. As Charles Bukowski wrote: "The days run away like wild horses over the hill."
This show had some incredible talent. Little Wednesday was quite an amazing little dancer, combined with Ted Cassidy, they created a great comic scene. And Caroline Jones... well she had a beautiful sexy and sophisticated comical charm that was truly mesmerizing. Matched with the comic eccentricity of John Astin, they were wonderfully paired. Astin’s cigar smoking Gomez often echoed a touch of Groucho Marx, interestingly Nat Perin, the series producer was a close friend and wrote for some of Marx’s movies... coincidence? I just noticed it more in reruns. I think this show being produced by Filmways, added to the amazing quirkiness of the show. Filmways shows such as Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies had a unique satirical twist, uncommon in most situation comedies, and not really appreciated until years later.
All beauties of this classic are in the naturalness of each caracter. Everything seems to be spontaneous and fun. The footage being in black and white ,also enhances even more the naturalness of the caracters and the Adams" mansion even more. There is light and not darkness in this place.

RIP Lisa.. this dance is so adorable
Wednesday's using the term Boss in the 60's is more proof pop culture reapeats itself.
I was surprised to hear her use that term. Even the way she said it was "boss."
@ Katrina Jones Never saw any Gidget or Dobie Gillis movie's

Lurch was cuttin up that rug pretty good too!
I'm thinking of busting those out in the club
Did she become a go go dancer
She sure did!

He sadly died of a heart attack in the 80s I think. Tall people are more prone to heart problems.

LOL. I love the way she moves her little head. So cute!
The original Wednesday dance

You go girl, Wednesday is cutting a rug, what a great little dancer she is!
Lisa is such a good dancer Kids often are because they don't think about it too much.
Wednesday is killing it.
She shuffled her feet like she took dancing lessons from james brown.how cool is that.😊.
Omg one of my favorite shows back in the day. Truly miss it. Funny as heck.
Indeed! I had forgotten how hilarious The Adaams Family was.

But she was told to never smile when on camera. It was part of the character. Carolyn (Morticia) and Wednesday kidded around alot when not on camera.
Nobody can do "The Freddie" like Gomez Adams! 💃 😁
He dances waaaaay better than Elaine did in Seinfeld.

The films caught that spirit, in that the Adams seemed like normal human beings and it was the rest of society that was insane.
