Have you ever wondered about the correlation between music and astrology? There are 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 houses and 12 tones in music. 12 is a number that abounds: 12 apostles, 12 days of Xmas, 12 tribes of Israel etc.....this video brings together two of my passions: astrology and music showing their connectedness. The square in Astrology resonates with the Minor 3rd in music. The trine resonates with the Major 3rd. I'm exploring the possibility of actually playing someone's astrology chart on the keyboard. It's an exciting area and I look forward to your feedback and comments!
The book is called, "Egyptian Rhythms: The Heavenly Melodies," by Moustafa Gadalla. Inside the book there is a chart that denotes the moving/transiting planets and the corresponding musical notes. It follows the planetary movements 24/7. It is one way of building harmonic chords around musical scales that are melodic and resonate with the planets. So Saturn has a music scale, Sun has a music scale, moon, mercury, mars, Jupiter and Venus and so on...

Your vid made me think of the old silent movies. The music playing as the characters would have something bad or sad happen (opposition or square) and then something happy would happen to them & then playful tunes. Way to go Barbara! This is the kind of universal coding and patterns that show up in everything, that keeps me endlessly fascinated with this magical universe we are so fortunate to be a part of (even the bad stuff as we may perceive it). These fractals show up in everything and it all leads back to one true source that creates the symphony of the universe. It is truly amazing! Beautiful playing by the way. What a joy music is.

This is an ancient way of balancing called, "Music of the Spheres." Pre-Egyptian and Egyptian did mathematical calculations based on the hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly movements of the planets based on the diatonic scale of 8. They calculated musical scales with the Earth being the center. Beginning with Saturn, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus and back to the octave Saturn 8. Harmonizing the 4th and 5th major chord. They would play, sing and intone as the planets moved throughout the day called, "Singing in the Hours." If you would like to see the chart and how it correlates to what you figuring out I am happy to share it. The transiting planets throughout the day dictates the beginning tonic of the scale and how to harmonize dissonant, crunchy, conflicting tonalities such as 7th note resolving to back to the tonic. This ancient practice of harmonizing with the music of the sphere was lost and re-emerged during the time of Charlemagne because he asked for and he was granted by the Pope in Rome access to the archives of ancient music. Charlemagne believed everyone should be taught music (Therefore Charlemagne allowed music lessons free to all his people) and learn to sing as a way of harmonizing balancing one's inner outer worlds with the cosmos. Later it mutated into what is now more commonly known as Gregorian chanting. Super awesome your intuition is picking up on this ancient form of harmonizing with the music of the planets as a way to balance dissonant and dense challenging energies. Also believed the planets as they move make musical sounds and harmonies. By singing along with the planetary movements one is harmonizing with the musical sounds of the planets. Super wonderful your heart is open. Also worth mentioning ancient Egyptians believed music and singing to harmonize with the spheres (Planets) was a way of raising the heart vibration to be light as a feather. Thank you Barbara.

I studied audio engineering and my biggest musical influence came to me in a dream multiple times and said that "everything in life that is/will be important to you will happen in 3's and groups of 3's." the demonstration so well shows what all the planets' positions in our natal charts and their moving and shifting signs in our journeys of life mean to us - every melody is extremely beautiful, unique and meaningful, has purpose, is connected to other melodies to compose a great one piece of music and waits there to be played by ours gracefully and to be enjoyed. 💝✨
Something that I’ve always been interested in is how our charts affect our music tastes. I’m an Aries with cancer ascendant and my favorite artist is Hiromi Uehara who also has those aspects in her chart. The first time I heard her music I felt like all of the emotions I’ve ever felt were being expressed. I also notice that my friend is a Taurus and listens to many Taurus artists as well. I would love for someone to further expand this idea because I think it has a lot to do with how we express our emotions into music.

Beautiful playing Barbara! I've always loved thinking about the correlations. Stacked minor thirds make a diminished sound with a lot of tension, like squares..... and Stacked major thirds make an augmented chord, which sounds open, magic, and expansive just like trines. (I have a grand fire trine!) But I think there is a better way to represent the difference between squares and trines than by demoing major and minor chords, as they are combinations of minor and major thirds.
When you play those chords, to better represent the frequencies of square versus trine, STACK THIRDS to full 7ths, don't make minor and major triads, because those are combinations of major and minor thirds. For example, a major triad is a major third with a minor on top, whereas a minor triad is the opposite. That would be like hearing a square and a trine together, so switching between minor and major just switches which is on top.
SO, in stacking "squares," or minor thirds you will get a diminished 7th chord (c, eb, gb, a, c) not a C minor chord. Justly an Augmented chord (trine) would be c e g# NOT a C major triad. Playing these "stacked," chords gives a better representation of the energy because they are totally different, verses minor and major chords which are major and minor thirds in different arrangements.
So in a nutshell, Trines are to Augmented Harmonies (purely major) as Squares are to Diminished Harmonies (purely minor), so I'm not saying Barbara is wrong, simply elaborating.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense to you, but it most likely will not until you understand music theory and harmony.
