Total Solar Eclipse April 8th, 2024 Predictions ASMR

- Dr. Andrew Michaels will be live on Monday April 8th, 2024 around 2:30 PM EST with a live stream of the Solar Eclipse over Ohio. If all goes well, he will broadcast it live for his audience and share it with you. If there is a failure in WIFI he will upload it ASAP on his channel to share with all of you on the same day. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. People viewing the eclipse from locations where the Moon's shadow completely covers the Sun - known as the path of totality - will experience a total solar eclipse.
Please message the Dr. on Instagram or Facebook if you are going to be in Ohio that day and want to try to meet up with him in person. No promises we can make it happen due to cloudy weather, we may have to relocate that day, so our destination will not be 100% until the day of the Eclipse.

Well, I'm already one of the survivors of the last Total Eclipse in 1999. If I died back then and THAT is the afterlife....I wasn't good enough boy.
Unfortunately, the camera tech wasn't that great. Have taken a picture but it's so grainy.

I think Dr. Michaels actually arranged for these eclipses: March 24th- 25th (Lunar)-and April 8th (Solar) to run sooo close into each other!

I thought the eyepatch was so that they could go below decks and their eyes don’t need to adjust to the dark, because one eye is already adjusted. This does make sense though.

I love all things space, I’ve been SO hyped about this eclipse for the last 2 or 3 years ever since I found out about it. Now that it’s coming up I’m losing it.
I've been planning my day for two years, love space stuff, so I'm right there with you. Good to meet you.
An other explanation I heard for the eye patch (I don’t know if it’s accurate) is that it would allow to maintain one eye accustomed to darkness. That was when they would move between the (bright) bridge of the ship to the (dark) inside they could just lift the eyepatch and not wait each time to get accustomed.
Could easily be a bit of both tbf

Elmer Ambrose Sperry [from Cortland, NY - where I grew up] invented the Gyrocompass /Gyroscopic Compass - Also used for sea navigation.
As for the Solar Eclipse: I've been a lunar photographer for the better part of 3 decades, so HOPEFULLY, the event will be fun to shoot!
Central/Upstate/Western NY is apparently going to be getting pretty crazy. We'll see.

As much as I'm a firm believer in the rapture. It is ridiculous people assume solar eclipses like these are a sign of the times. There is no warning when the lord returns, he will return without warning. By the time we realize he returned. We'll all be in heaven.

When I was a kid. My parents had issues and mom and I were in a halfway house. At 2 in the morning a woman was screaming hysterically at the top of her lungs. Blood-curdling actually. Long story short. She is sub-saharan African. She had never seen snow in her life. She was utterly convinced we were being invaded by Aliens :) It was so cool seeing someone overcome hysteria and experience large form snow flakes for the first time.
That is an amazing story of helping someone with logic and reason to see the world in a most different way. Wow. Thank you for sharing that.
Goodness I wish I could witness a solar eclipse, but they almost never seem to happen on a clear day when they're supposedly visible in Australia

Ohio is one of the most cloud covered areas in North America, so I'm keeping fingers crossed, probably won't get a clear view of it without having to travel.
Also the northern hemisphere gets more of them

Question, I’ve been told that looking at an eclipse will blind you permanently in less than a second, I wanna know if that’s actually true and if not, how long would an appropriate time to look at an eclipse without protections

When I was young. I once had a friend who deliberately took his glasses during the eclipse to show how though he was despite our warnings. He later in the same day cried because his eyes were in pain and he couldn’t see shit. I mean we warned him and he didn’t listen.
It is really sad when someone looks up directly at the sun, refusing to wear protection thinking it won't hurt them. I just do not understand it. It hurts my eyes almost immediately, I'm very sensitive so I can understand his pain.
