Yes please. It’s tax on a tax. Bc is the worst for gas prices thanks to the ndp
ah yes the ndp. sole responsibility for gas prices. not the corporations who set the price. remember when gas was raised to 2.20 a liter despite paying the same taxes they are now
@@user-ql4kd7iz4u Corporations do not set prices markets set prices its called supply and demand. The difference here is that the government is arbitrarily setting a benchmark minimum cost on an inelastic essential commodity.

This would make for a perfect summer. I would be able to drive and see my kids and family again.
Gas prices have gone down below where they were before the carbon price increase on Apr 1st, 2024. So if you couldn't do it before then you can't do it now. If you can't afford the $0.03/L increase that happened on Apr 1st, 2024 you should do what Conservatives always tell you to do: pull yourself up by your bootstraps.
But they say driving causes bad weather, so maybe just walk. Oh wait, breathing causes it too. Just stay home with your mask on.
@@Arkhanno I get what your saying and I can afford it, my province gas prices are still considerably higher than they were two 3 months ago. It would just be nice to have the chance to splurge on vacations and roadtrips this summer to get the lead out.

How much is the “carbon tax” per litre of gas in 2024? As of April 2024, the federal minimum price is set at CA$80 per tonne of CO 2 equivalent. This roughly translates to 14.3 cents per litre of gasoline.
Another out of touch liberal… a $0.05 discount adds up - let alone $0.143. If it just $0.143/L, why can’t your Master, Justin Trudeau, give its citizens, who he works for, that small discount? Oh yeah, because $0.143 means nothing for you out of touch radicals
17+ cents
You didn’t include HST on the price of the carbon tax
@@punjabigrandma HST doesn't apply on Carbon tax
@@toddpick8007 FALSE!!!!!!

35 cents a litre wow...
Yes! My family is not in a position to take any vacation. All we want is time with our families and rest 🍎
you need a cheaper transit method, better pay, cheaper homes. not a removal of gas taxes. gas got up to 2,20 a liter in 2022. if you lower taxes the oil companies just make more profit.
I was shocked when I rolled through Abbotsford, I was able to fill at 1.68 diesel.... Then it was 180 all the way to Alberta, then 140. Makes a huge difference to have another 20-30 dollars in your pocket.

Okay so he is telling the province to cut the tax right, not just federal.
Sure do it, why did Turdeau raise it?
@@toddpick8007dude, the federal gas tax has been the same since 1995. it’s not that hard to look up
@@user-ql4kd7iz4u The Carbon tax is literally new and literally adds 17+ cents per liter every liter to gas numpty
@@toddpick8007do you remember when the price of gas was 2.20 a liter. was that the carbon tax too? wtf does numpty mean. oil corporations always set the price not the government.
@@user-ql4kd7iz4u Again what are you having trouble understanding numpty? Commodity prices fluctuate vis a vis demand. I can live with that, thats called Capitalism. What i cant live with is a regressive incompetent government who attaches regressive incomepetant taxes to Inelastic Goods to "save the earth". This isnt hard to get. markets set the price, the fact that gasoline is inelastic makes it even more morally reprehensible that the government would add on cost to essentials. If Gas is $2.20 a liter GST/HST and federal/provincial excise taxes still apply ontop of that youre still paying 17 cents+ more per liter than you should be paying because of a carbon tax NUMPTY!
So governments absolutely set the price they are literally saying that Gas cant be cheaper than 47+ cents/liter (in ontario) because thats their base cost of excise/hst and carbon taxes on a liter of fuel. A company literally could not charge you less than that so they are absolutely setting a benchmark rate for fuel not the fuel companies. Ontop of that you arent even quantifying market effects that government cause on producers of gas which increase the cost of the product (overhead, payroll, property, regulatory taxes etc etc) that apply to every gasoline producer. Business doesnt pay that cost they pass that cost onto the consumer.
💯
How is it that your numbers don't seem to make sense ?
I will offer him free advice.
We need higher taxes on Canadians! Doctors and nurses and educators need a 78% tax rate.
Geees, that'd be nice. Sadly, no one in power to do anything cares is we all suffer.

Do you give your word as a fellow human being sir
I think he'll just axe the carbon tax by changing the name from carbon tax to a road user fee...
It's just what politicians do ....
Curious about this question is able to actually answer the volume question dueling in cash if it's a 4 individuals around down if it's a 5 individuals Roundup.
Is getting rid of the penny making it for you should not actually deal in cash anymore. 0.04x1,000,000=40,000 are high trafficking transactions companies deliberately setting it for their always gaining that 0.04 value. Inventory sheets are pretty accurate in companies now seems plausible to fix the numbers like that when it comes to high traffic volume transactions.

Then how come “common sense(?)” Smith of AB is not cutting gas taxes, but increasing them again?
He's a clown, and will never vote for him.
He has no control over what a premier does.
Yes, but can't you see, when we are taxed heavily on fuel we will not travel as much, as for example; to the cottage, a resort, a trip to distant family or to the Beach. That way all the businesses along the way will be less busy and not cause more of that harmful carbon in the air. They, in turn, will have to lay off employees thus furthering the reduction in travel time with those dirty cars. Of course, all the employees servicing the refrigeration, cooking, Landscaping, etc. will also be scaled back thus creating a domino effect. Pretty soon we're all sitting at home waiting for our HST and carbon rebate checks. Win-win!
