  • Looking for a used Volkswagen in South Africa? We have over 10 000 to choose from!
    www.cars.co.za/usedcars/Volks...
    South Africans are flocking to SUVs and crossovers en masse and the reality is that brands simply can't afford not to offer a variety of SUVs to potential customers. The T-Roc is the latest SUV to join the Volkswagen line up and sits between the smaller T-Cross and the larger Tiguan in the VW stable.
    But as Ciro De Siena finds out, the T-Roc is quite a unique offering. Built on Golf underpinnings with the same 2-litre motor found in the GTI, what exactly is the T-Roc trying to be? It's not as practical as the family-friendly Tiguan and it's arguably not as practical as the smaller T-Cross.
    In this video we take a look at the newcomer and try to work out who should buy this car and why. We cover the interior, specs and pricing, tech features, boot space and engine power.
    Let us know what you think of the all-new T-Roc.

    Until VW offers their high end vehicles in a manual version, i am staying away. I had an Audi A3 1.8T with 7 speed DSG that broke at 87000km (out of warranty in years)...R10 grand later to fix the mechatronic unit and i sold it within a month (What happens is the oil pressure accumulator (that store oil under pressure to activate the clutch) develops a crack and then the pressure pump in the gearbox runs continuously without switching off /off as need be and you get a fault light the burns continuously on your dash...although in my case the gearbox still worked normally)). The place in Pretoria which fixed the gearbox and explained the problem to me had VW vehicles there ranging from the Polo all the way to the Audi Q7`s, all with same or similar DSG gearbox issues. People all over the world trying to get VW/Audi to admit the DSG gearbox problems (Although it is an awesome gearbox while it works), but i will never buy any VW or Audi product if it has a DSG gearbox in it ever again!

    So VW is thinking of only bringing the Golf 8 GTI and Golf R? Well that gives something like a Madza 3 a better chance of being what it is, the best car in the segment and the VW Polo could be an option for people who are looking to buy a Golf (only if they don't bring the Golf 8).
    But alomst R600 000 for a VW before options? Wow....

    • @remandlo
      @remandlo Před 2 měsíci

      What I have noticed is that T-roc is appealing inside the cabin but outside is somehow bad not to mention the rear part and the limited boot space. T-cross on the other side looks like a wow machine from outside but inside is it too obvious for vw car owners.

    I was interested in what you would lose if you take a "middle of the road Tiguan". Not sure you can just say it's "more car", yes it'll be bigger, but what are the downgrades then? No automatic? No nav? No digital cockpit? No Front Assist? IQ drive?
    Because those are the features that you're paying for in the T-roc you got here, so a Tiguan could lose that.

  • @pietbezuidenhout6735
    @pietbezuidenhout6735 Před 3 lety

    OK, so the boot space for the T-Roc is given as 445 L for the 2WD model and 392 L for the 4Motion models (seats folded down 1290 L and 1237L). For the T-Cross boot capacity is specified at 377 L (seats folded flat value not given in the brochure) across the model range as there are no 4Motion models. Did you do actual measurements which resulted in different boot capacities?
    Thanks for the objective review otherwise.

    • @CiroDeSiena
      @CiroDeSiena Před 3 lety

      Hi there, I think the confusion comes in because the T-Cross has a sliding rear bench, and a false boot floor which all affect the volume. Having experience of both cars though, it looks to me like the 4Motion T-Roc has a smaller boot.
