This video is to show that resistance checking doesn't prove plug performance. The video is not a tutorial on how to remove and install glow plugs ie: i do not discuss engine warm or cold, reamers, anti-size etc...

Thanks for another quality video Dave, it’s info like the colour coding on glow plugs that’s invaluable. I’ve seen plenty of burned out plugs by people pushing 12v at them with these cheap glow plug testing devices.

Thanks for that video. Really useful!. I have the exact same car and it was not starting properly on occasions. Other times it was struggling to get up to any decent speed very quickly. Did an obd and got the same as you got for cylinder 1,2 & 4. How much should I expect to pay to get this fixed in the uk? roughly

I hate doing glow plugs because nearly always one of them leaves the tip broken off in the head.. Maybe its just my luck. I believe if you pull the glow plugs at around 100,000km you'll have less chance of running in trouble. Most problems I get is due carbon build up when the plug is not working. So I pull them while there still working.. Totally personal choice on this one..

Great video. I have a 2015 Zafira C 2.0 CDTi and its showing the same fault, but on cylinder 3. I spoke to my local garage and they are saying I need glow plugs with an igniter. I've been quoted over £150 per plug! When I search, however it says they are the same as you have on the video, which are about £25 each. Does this sound right to you?

Dave what is your view on these glow plug impact guns like the sealey SA141 that apply very low 10,20,30,40 NM to the plug socket. Run them for 3 min cycle and increase the NM. Assume they break the bond using vibration. Not used one but guess its another way.

Hi you need to remove the plastic rivet first and then you can remove the plastic cover just pop up on each corner the unplug the washer hose. After that you have two 1m bolts and clips to remove then done
