    Aaaah this camera made me feel like a badass in weddings and parties standing next to my friends with their mirrorless cameras. ND filter, Zeiss optics, insanely pure pixels, super large sensor, Xenon flash, .. I could write an entire book about how much this phone was everything! This may be my last Nokia phone but it’s the perfect swansong of Nokia and my love for the brand since I got my nokia 5110 in the late 90s. Good times. 🍻

    • @AbdullaZaki
      @AbdullaZaki  Před 2 lety +8

      Not only that, this sensor is still technically much superior to your average 40+ MP sensors made today. There are very few sensors today that are better, and usually found on only the most expensive of flagships

    • @uneternal4253
      @uneternal4253 Před 2 lety +3

      @@AbdullaZaki Yes, most of todays phones still have a small sensor. Too bad Nokia failed. They should've never done the deal with M$ and instead improve Symbian. I still miss having Nokia battery life, I remember having 3-4 days with a 5800 express music on the latest FW while iPhone users already had to charge every day.

    This device's camera could probably still rival today's smartphone cameras. It's an iconic Smartphone. I wish if Nokia releases a 2021 version of this Smartphone then it would be impossible for other manufacturers to beat and would easily rival the likes of iPhone 13's, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Sony Xperia 1 Mark iii, etc.

      @DeyanIliev-mi9zq Před 3 lety +10

      Actually it won't. In ideal conditions it will come close to the quality of modern flagships but ideal conditions are not always... Ideal. So overall it will lag behind them but not by much and not because it's bad but because technology has advanced since 2012. Lenses have become nore complex, bigger and software has started to play a huge roll into phone photography.

    • @DeyanIliev-mi9zq
      @DeyanIliev-mi9zq Před 3 lety +5

      @@yash_kambli Depends on who you ask. The average consumer for example doesn't care or mind. They want the photos to look good to the eye and they themselves to look good when taking set photos. If that means a bit more contrast here or over saturation so be it. As for more professional oriented users almost all phones include raw images that can then be edited using software to make them lool as natural as possible or to get the desired effect. And obviously pro photographers just use specialized cameras not smartphone ones. So yes there is a lot of software touching up when it comes to modern phones but it's not always bad. For example the pixels for photos and iphone for videos.

    Totally agree! I still have an 808 in white and the phone would still work, except ATT blocks it now (3G). As to the dimensions, well it is far more comfortable to hold in the hand than any of today's slabs... period. Wrt the screen resolution, it was only an issue when looking at the hi-res pix on the phone, for everything else the brightness combined with pure black tech made it the standard, still is IMHO. Oh, don't forget Symbian Belle supported widgets, e.g. the mail app showed new emails as they arrived and the window was scrollable.

    This was ironically my last Nokia phone. The major problems were charging and battery issues. Since it had micro USB port it was nightmare to charge this device. Thankfully I had E5 as the secondary device and fortunately both phones have similar capacity battery. So I have to swap them back and forth to charge them . The problem was back panel of both the phones lost their grip. 808 was accidentally dropped which aided in complete destruction of charging port and E5 well it died with time. Both phones are still somewhere in my house.

No, that responsibility goes to my awesome Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, soon to be the Mi 12 Ultra that I just pre-ordered. So now my beloved Nokia 808’s have joined the rest of my Nokia’s, on display throughout my house inside of custom cylinder glass cases, in which I own an unhealthy amount of as I own an insane amount of tech that I loved throughout the years, including a lot of Nokia phones.
    I mean I have the Nokia 2520, a Windows RT tablet that I purchased as a bundle with the awesome Nokia 1520. Communicator, I own them all, including the E90, E7, E75, N97, N900 and the N950 Dev phone. Though my favorite Nokia business phone was the E72, in which I had immortalized by also buying a Vertu Constellation Quest. On a side note, I love Vertu, in fact I just bought the new iVERTU in Calf Leather Caramel Brown. It’s the same with my Porsche Blackberry P'9981, I just had to have it to honor the Blackberry Phones that I had loved and used for so many years. This also included the 24K Gold BlackBerry Passport Edition. Talking about gold, I also own every gold edition Nokia ever produced, even the Oro. • @venzislavvladimirov3046
      @venzislavvladimirov3046 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, absolutely mostly using manual - c1, c2, c3, creative mode. Yesterday i was shot same scene with p20pro and Nokia 808 pureview, and pictures from 808 was way better, clearer, noise free images almost looks like from entry level DSRL 🙂👍

    • @venzislavvladimirov3046
      @venzislavvladimirov3046 Před 3 lety +1

      Even night shots from 808 are very good, when shooting on tripod, when zoom the night shots from 808 and Huawei p20pro, shots from 808 are almost noise free, and p20pro are noisy, artificial looks compared to 808🙂🤔

  • @RennieAsh
    @RennieAsh Před 2 lety +2

    It really focused on quality media. Would be nice for a modern version. Maybe the Sony Xperia Pro-i is the closest thing, but that trades off motion capture focus excellence but you then need the lower quality telephoto lens to zoom in

    I was able recently to buy one to see what it is about. I feld in love with it. I am going the oposite way of modern phones, leaning back to blackberry classic, Nokia E72 and recently updated my collection with Nokia 808 and 1020. I enjoy more 808s photos but 1020 has raw photos, that are double of 808s size, meaning better for editing. Literally, I prefer this 2 phones over all modern cameras in phones, that uses destructive Ai. Just to compare, for example photo of Samsung Galaxy Ultra 20 is about 10 - 16mb, 808 is 20+mb and 1020 40mb+. Also Ai destroys absulutly detail of photos. This is personal opinion, but I think if you zoom in gallery photo taken with modern phone, it is just discusting result. To compare with 808 and 1020, has just beautiful weight in the photos and zoom. Literally it is like taking photos with dlsr cameras. Main downside of 1020 is that the colours are kinda off, but that can be easy edited.

      I'm also always amazed when transferring pictures taken with the 808 and 1020 to a PC and viewing them on a big screen. So much details, such pleasant and clean processing too.
