EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK DAY 5 (Jumping in a Glacier Lake)

- Today on our trek to Everest Base Camp we are hiking from the village of Machermo to Gokyo. it is going to take us about 4 hours with 6 miles of hiking. Gokyo sits at 4800 meters or 15,750 feet. We can already start to feel the altitude kicking in and we are praying that we do not get too bad of altitude sickness. This trek has been wonderful so far. I love Nepal, the people, the beauty, the culture, it is all so amazing. Thank you for joining me on this journey!!

Another awesome video! Nepal is such a wonderful country. You mentioned “14 Peaks” early in the video. We meet one of Sherpa’s that was with Nims when we were on the way to Everest. The Sherpa’s are the unsung hero’s of mountaineering.

Interesting story. My friend, who works in critical care, hiked Everest and took a portable sats probe machine from work with her. On the flight (commercial airline), her sats were in the 80s (normal for a healthy adult is above 93%). When she got to Everest Base Camp, her sats consistently sat in the 70s!

I subscribed to your channel after seeing your vlogs on Kara and Nate's channel. This has been an amazing video series. If I was 30 years younger I this would've been on my bucket list. I have a friend who made it to base camp, but had to take a chopper back to Lukla. I visited Bhutan in 2011 and tried a square of Yak Cheese. It tasted like Gruyere. I threw it out after my guide said it would take 3 hours to melt.
