So that tub was likely an ash box for someone's cremated remains and it is very common to leave precious coins or jewelry or valuables in general in the box with the ashes as that person might have desired to be buried with them.
It didn't look like a watertight container those coins could have been belongings to the person that was cremated that were placed in the container and the ashes mixed with the water and sort of washed out overtime.
Keep in mind this is probably the remains of a person, just like people wish to be buried with their belongings, some wish to be cremated with them. That box had no possible way to get mud inside, so it was likely ashes from the persons cremation.
I really like how itâs totally ignored that these are likely someoneâs ashes and that therefore out of simple respect everything should be put back even though many people here in the comments have pointed it out đ
