Mama still has to pay child support. just cause she's a vengeful spirit doesn't mean she gets a pass.

As soon as I watched IT i was like OMG ITS MAMA WITHA FLUTE!
well it’s made by the same people lmao
Alarice oh yeah the lady in the painting with the flute
The director (Who also directed IT) was inspired on a painting that used to be in his parents house when he was little! That's why they resemble, he said it really creeped him out.
Nobody's talking about how messed up it is to keep a CHILDS REMAINS IN A BOX
Don't be a baby
Ya!? What dumb shit are you gonna say right now? You realize this is a comment on a FICTIONAL story with a fictional plot?
To be fair we do sometimes keep children's remains in boxes. Though normally those boxes are underground.
Hmm yes the floor is made up of the floor
Um, yeah, that is pretty messed up. They couldn't even bury the child? D:
Imagine the PTSD Victoria must have...
1) Her father went crazy one day and took her away from her home, and then she WITNESSED a blurry black presence kill him.
2) She then found comfort that blurry black presence and got attached to it while in isolation. Only to realise later that the thing was actually evil. (More like insane but evil in her eyes since she tried to kill Anabelle).
3) The ONE person who has been with her throughout the trauma, and she has looked out for, was her little sister. In the end, she lost her as well.
This girl is going to have some serious trust and attachement issues and possibly an avoidant personality with bad social skills.
Yeah, that sounds about right. LOL
Why dont you ask the director to make a sequel so you can give her a medical interview and diagnose her
@@Out5Heremaybe u should ask the director to make a sequel . It seems like u really want the girl to examine victoria 😂😂🤷♀️
Excellent observations and conclusions!
I wonder if there's some people out there that can move on from stuff like that without any issues. The way people talk about it its like if a person has a traumatic experience then they must develop mental issues. Anyone ever known someone to have had messed up things happen to them but later in life not develop any issues? Or is that impossible?
So according to the laws of this universe...
If I die, but right before i die, I realize I left the stove on...
Does that mean I become a spirit until I find and/or turn the stove off as a spirit?

Mama is a heavily decaying reanimated corpse that can travel from place to place via what seems to be a pocket dimension, leaving black sludge covering the entry and exit points.

The finale got me all choked up. Yeah, she lost her baby but that brought her to the kids when they both needed someone to care about. I was honestly expecting her to move on once she got the bones but it shows us that her maternal bond with the girls is now stronger than that with her baby.
And the way the ghost, who could easily have killed the woman, just kept pushing her down because she knew her opposition was coming from the same love she had... That really got to me.
(also I was reminded of that quote from The Simpsons: 'is this a happy ending or a sad ending?' 'its an ending. lets leave it at that', lol)
I love the movie and how the story ended. I know a lot of people were upset that lily ended up dying but for Lily mama was the only adult that she had known when she was little so why wouldn't she's go with her. I'm happy mama 2 wasn't made cause I feel like it would have ruin it.
@@kaylakurosaki4873 plot twist: mama 2 would still be advertised as a horror movie but then turns out to be a found family sitcom-like movie featuring lily the moth
Yeah I was upset and really sad she died. Just so sad
People like you are idiots. She doesn't love or care for the girls, the girls were young lonely and vulnerable, and she used that vulnerability against them. Victoria snapped back to reality real quick because she knew what was up. As soon as Lily started to catch on (which happened after mama lured her outside the night that she had to go back to cabin to kill Dr., Lily then wanders outside in the freezing cold which isn't something a loving mother would do to a child. Annabelle finds her the next morning and helps her warm up.) The very next time they see mama, everyone gets attacked, INCLUDING LILY!!!! WHICH is why when Annabelle and Victoria entered the previously locked bedroom, lily who was in there alone with mama got punished and reprimanded by mama, again loving mothers don't attack there child when someone tries to help them out of the freezing cold that mama selfishly baited her into. The whole reason mama did that was because if mama has to go to cabin for the night, it's kind of a, if I can't be there, then no one else can comfort them. The ending scene was not cute, beautiful, and loving, it was the end result of mamas manipulative fake love, she knew lily would eventually fall for Lucas and Annabelle, which would have been good for her as opposed to living in filth in a cabin eating nothing but cherries and bugs. So mamas solution is to kill her, a five year old with her life ahead of her. That's not love and that's not what The movie is about.
A sad ending I didt want her to take the baby along because she had hers presented to her
her closing the door is probably the smartest decision any horror movie character has ever made... which is to say, its very sad that that's the smartest action.
fyi the real hero of the story is victoria, she's been the defacto ambassador between mama and her uncle and his wife.
yeah, totaly Victoria ^^
Victoria definitely a colossal plot point, aside from the main stuff, she's pretty much the only reason the adults are faced with mama and are somewhat able to resolve it. If Victoria wasn't a character, Mama would've just killed the Adults immediately cause it's not like Lily would care
"You're Next" has many more smart decisions. Great horror movie. If you like smart horror movie characters, try watching it.
Amerlad mad no shit
kaklsdkkag lily would
I liked that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau played both the father and the uncle.... just like in Game of Thrones

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Zing
So true tho
😂😂😂😂
I don't think that "Mama" was really mentally unstable. Think about that: She was an unmarried woman (at least I think she was unmarried) who gave birth to a kid in 18something. The asylums during that time era didn't have the greatest reputation either (at least in horror movies). Bringing a pregnant woman there just because she brought "shame" over her family isn't a big stretch. They stole her child and I'm pretty sure they didn't treat her nicely either. She wanted to protect herself and her child, committing suicide was the only way out in her situation (I don't believe that it was her orignal plan to jump of that cliff, but she was surrounded by people who chased them. Going back would potentionally get her executed and her child growing up in an orphanage. Which again didn't have a great reputation in that time).
Mama didn't kill anyone without a reason: She killed the father just because he tried to kill Victoria. She was in that cabin before he grabbed the gun and watched the situation. She cared for the girls and suddenly a woman who doesn't even like children has to take care for them. She is afraid of losing them (like she lost her child to the nuns) and was on the edge to kill Anabelle. In the end she didn't kill her, even though it would have been easy for her (she even showed Anabelle her backstory). She almost killed Luke, but he looks exactly like the guy who tried to shoot Victoria.
Btw: As a spirit she is definitely not fully reasonable and full by her senses, the only reason she still exist is the lost of her child. She has her clear moments though.
She killed the aunt because she tried to "steal" the children AGAIN and she was even more in her way than Anabelle. She killed the psychologist because he had his own motivations and didn't try to help her or the girls in any way. I would say that he was actually the "worst" of all: He "tortured" Victoria (in some way. Hypnotising someone against their will isn't nice at least. And I don't think that psychologist aren't the most trustworthy people for Mama) for his book and even disturbed Mama in her cabin. He didn't try to reason with her, he tried to get a picture of her so that his book would be a big sell. Mama was in PAIN when he took all those pictures, at least he stressed her out (killing him was definitly not the nicest way to deal with an unwanted paparazzi, but again: She isn't a fully reasonable human anymore). After all that she didn't see any other way out except to do the same stunt again like in her previous live. She let Victoria go just because she didn't want to die with her and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't take Lily with her if she didn't go with her out of her own personal choice. Some people argue that Lily was just a little kid who shouldn't decide when to die. Live is the first think given to us, it's the one think that we are all responsible for no matter how old we are. Just because we are adults doesn't give us the right to choose over a person when to live or when to die, even if they are a child. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't protect them, but Lily in this case was fully aware what "going with Mama" would mean for her.
Mama wasn't evil, but she was extremly dangerous and unpredictable. Not because she was mentally unstable, but because she was a restless spirit. From all antagonist in horror movies like la Ilonora, paranomal activity or the conjuring serie I think that "Mama" was by far the "nicest". She didn't kill everyone on her way and just tried to protect her children (like every mother would do)
XxBlueEyedxX i read all of that and wow amazing
Dude made a whole book 🤣

The ending scene, especially when Lily is laughing and touching Mama's face while they embrace, always broke me everytime.
It goes to show how much Lily loves Mama.
Lily didnt understand what was going on, other than the fact that she's happy because she is with Mama. But to us, the audience, we know what will happen, and for me that is heart-breaking, no matter how many time I watch this movie...

Makes sense since she wasn't ever alive during the movie anyway. She was reanimated by Mama when she died. Hence the picture of the young purple girl on the wall puking blood. And her unworldly actions and moves. And the fact that she turned into a butterfly just like Mama instead of them finding any human remains after of Lily.

Big brain coming through: Mama wanted to bring a sibling for her dead child in the afterlife
lol
that's some big brain thinking
I still don’t understand why the little sister saw mama as good
bigger brain thinking, the evil ghost wanted to take another person's child forcefully and kill them to inflict pain onto others as she selfishly killed herself and left her child to die in the elements, intending to kill her child right then, both depriving an innocent child of life, hell exists for a reason, maybe not for made up movie ghosts but for real people who do shit like that.
@@thebat8997 because all she ever knew was Mama and that Mama would ‘protect’ her because that’s what Mama told her, while Victoria knew things before Mama and was able to connect her previous life to the life she finally got again with the new family, she’s also old enough to understand how bad Mama is as her developmental years were not spent in the cabin unlike Lily
You know, the part where the sisters get separated forever made me cry my eyeballs out.

Fun fact: Mama’s actor is Javier Botet, and he actually is that tall and slim. He has a disorder called Marfan syndrome which is the cause of his odd appearance. He’s a pretty chill dude and very talented, I’m hoping to see him in more movies
I think what could’ve been a great touch for the ending would’ve been while Mama and Lily are falling, instead of the usual monstrous face, we get Edith’s face instead, signifying that her soul is now at peace.
Mason French is Edith is their real father actually? Because during that scene somehow Edith's face becomes quite masculine. 😅😅
I might be wrong but if you look, as they’re falling, Ediths face transforms from the monstrous look, back to the human form she had in her life. As they’re falling, before the white light begins to shine brighter, you see her face transform, which is why Lily begins to giggle and laugh. She’s finally with her mama. I loved the ending though, it shows that no matter what happened, Lily was attached to her mother figure. It was an unbreakable bond, it explains why Lily never wanted to change, she just wanted her mother. That’s why when she cries at the end for her mama and you see her transform back in to the monstrous form she had, I found it touching. She couldn’t leave her mother, and the mother couldn’t leave her child behind.
but mamas face was kinda distorted . I believe there was something actually wrong with her to begin with . possibly she was mentally disabled or something but her pictures aren't "normal " either
Yeah we saw her for a short moment there and she was still ugly
I actually really enjoy the idea of a supernatural being adopting two girls and trying to care for them
But it probably should be a different genre for it to be explored

So, Lilly went away with Mama, and they both made a cocoon became moths together; Victoria stayed with Annabelle and Lucas.
In the end, the three of them hug happy ever after. But I kept thinking of something... How are they going to explain all of this to the authorities???
Good question.

Thats why theres an ending... its a movie dude.

Is it bad that I didn’t cry for the sister being taken, I cried for Mama? I movie’s portrayal of the spirit forced me to feel her pain by showing us her human form and her story. It forced me to think about the spirit for once and all it went through. She just wanted a baby, and she stopped at nothing to get one. It was her downfall yet the reason she eventually moved on. Her smile, along with the sister’s at the end, made me burst into tears. The movie captured the spirit very well.

Yep. Just can't take it seriously now that I know what it looks like.
Correct
For real? I thought the directors' intent to gradually show more only made it even more unsettling; nestled neatly between uncanny-valley horror and to further allude to the physical manifestation of an emotion or mental illness, warped by trauma. It made the monster more human as the film continued. Better affect for the story, than getting cheap thrills out of hidden-monster tricks.
The youngest girl looked exactly like my little sister at that time and the ending would always make me cry because I couldn’t not think of my sister :(
I actually really liked this movie. It was a nice change of pace where technically the monster wasn't a bad guy trying to kill just to kill. She misses her child and in a very bittersweet ending, she does.

You should see the actor that plays her! His name is Javier Botet. Those are his real arms and hands. And he really IS that tall and thin. And all of the contortionst things that Mama does in the movie are also real. Javier has Marfan Syndrome, making him very tall, very thin, and making his joints and muscle hyper-extendable. He is an amazing performer, and he uses his sometimes disturbing body in the most unsettling ways, best seen in that dream sequence. Why do I know this, you may ask? ....Because I like Javier Botet. Honestly this is one of my favorite horror movies just because of how sad yet nice it is. The characters are well fleshed out and have their own personalities, Mama was defientally a interesting type of spirit, and overall the plot was nice! It even had good symoblism with the moths!
Annabel is awarded nobel common sense prize for being smart enough to close the closet which makes her the smartest horror movie girl ( or atleast one of them) and she is better than them all!!!
Mama's ability to travel through those dark portals and walk through walls (in some way) along with her look. It kind of reminds me of SCP 106

Mama took better care of those girls as a spirit, than so many living mothers do for their own children. Ijs
Well it was clear she intended for them to stay with her until death. I have no idea how this even relates the the movie whatsoever.

One kinda sad metaphor in this movie (that I call "The glasses arc") is the literal and figurative blindness that Victoria was subject to, for years she was blind to MAMA's cruel ways because of her child like innocents, her view of the world being blurred in a way. Only being able to see MAMA's wrong doings when she got her glasses back, therefor no longer needing to follow MAMA blindly.
I don't know of this is what the writers where planing on but it's really interesting how something can be so figurative and literal at the same time. Probably just over analyzing this but I'm a loser on the internet with nothing better to do than speculate-

She was mentally ill and couldn't bear being separated from her child hence her decision to kill the baby and die with it
Hajar Mdn it breaks my heart everytime :(
I read a comment suggesting that Lily was dead the entire movie. At the beginning of the movie she was attacked by raccoons , became ill, and died as a result of those injuries. Some examples pointed out was the fact that she always had bruises, cuts, that never healed. She took satisfaction in Annabelle blowing warm air on her hands because her body was always cold. During their interview with the doctor, on the video tape, lily was in the corner , eyes white and in an animalistic position. Maybe that is the reason the ghost allowed Victoria to stay, she felt she belong with the human world.

What are you doing in my swamp!!!!👹👹👹
Same director I think
If you think about it, NOBODY gets a happy ending except Mama and Lily. What happens when the authorities find the aunt dead in the cabin and Lily GONE? Not to mention, the doctor was killed and up to that point there were no suspects. And Annabelle has his stolen files in her home. Soooo, most likely Annabelle and Luke wound up in jail and Victoria wound up in a foster home or institutionalized.
saffie girl it's a movie calm down
saffie girl goddammit youre right
saffie girl i’m trying to not think about it
saffie girl That's what I always wondered, how would they explain that to the police?
saffie girl
1:41 "It's Jamie foookin Lannister"
This horror movie was the first horror movie I ever watched around 6-7 years and the ending always made me cry
To be honest I fell like mama is good because...
1. She could have killed Lucas and Annabel but she did not
2. She let Victoria go
3. She loved her baby and all she wanted was to be with it
4. She protected Lily and Victoria and saved them from being killed by there dad.
5. She wanted so much to be with a Child that loved her forever she could not move on with out it.
6.she really did love Victoria and Lily.
Kawaii Fangirl reasons I don’t like mama:
She kills people so she can steal their babies
Also she beats her kids when they show affection to other adults
Theory:she had mental health issues and is a supernatural being but is a reincarnated human
Kawaii Fangirl but...too much love is cancerous
Richard Keogh exactly she was selfish and didn't let Vic and lily live a normal life after getting a real family again
XOchEEr14 she was trying to fix her wrong and her emotion so she could rest. Mama wasn’t an evil spirit, just restless.
we watch this movie over and over but we skip the end it makes my daughter cry all the time.
Xochilt Palomino it's just so sad ;3;
the end makes me cry too
Emma Jamieson They never said how old their daughter was and I mean i first watched this when I was like 11 and watched it with my 6 year old brother🤷🏽♀️
Emma Jamieson 😂And uh why are you assuming?🤔 Like i said, they never said how old their daughter is you can’t assume the age. And some scary movies aren’t scary to kids at all. With parent supervision why is it a problem to you? If the child isn’t in harms way it’s not your place to judge 😂 And uh if I didn’t know english obviously you wouldn’t have understood what I said😂😂 ☺️You could check my grades if you want🤷🏽♀️ A’s all year in Honors English and im doing AP 😂.
Xochilt Palomino omg o cry every time
13:33 I jumped up from that shit bro.
From a psychology standpoint I would also love to do a case study like this
Though I could do without the whole ghost woman killing thing
Foundflix: "ending explained" °explained entire movie°
lol yea
he never explains just recaps what happened
He explains the whole movie of every movie he explains
@@butterbar2337 He re caps doesn't explain shit to the people who actually watched the movie.
His explaination videos seems to be for people who have not seen the movie.
He never actually explains the fucking ending
Loosey Goosey he explains the whole movie as if you have never heard of this movie before. You can’t be mad you watched the movie and watched this video.
Plot of Mama:
I want my baby back, baby back, baby back
I want my baby back, baby back, baby back.
Marsh Narsh Damn it 😹
2 for 10
Oh baby chilli's is back
Oh baby Lilly is back baby dead baby dead
*I want my baby back, baby back ribs*
I watch this because i know i wont conjure up enough courage to watch the actual film
@py card Bruh I saw like 3 jumpscares alone just in this summary video. When the father stares at the black mark on the wall and Mama jumps out to push him over the stairs, when the girl is looking away and Mama just starts speedrunning towards her, and when the doctor is taking pictures with the flash camera looking for Mama.
@@justjaxie i mean theyre not that bad you can watch it i watched it alone
Watch it
I watched this movie in theaters and it scared the hell outta me for years. I'm now warily clicking on this video...
That ending was soul shatteringly sad and strangely promising
This is the most accurate comment I've ever seen about the ending! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
"Return the babe, or suffer the cuuuuuurse"
Nice courage refferance🤙
The things I do for love...
That was such a terrifying episode.
Gyro Zeppeli searching for the corpse parts, huh?
I hated that Courage episode
That first-person where the POV was Mama freaking made me jump like holy shit they went the whole mile with this movie
And they all lived happily ever after....now let’s get away from the edge of the cliff.
Really 🤣
Mama 2 : Annabelle
Ankit tiwari I love your picture
Forgot what its called hopefully I got it right
Imagine those movies where connected😖

Ankit tiwari omg lol

If you watch the beginning, Lilly died. She was attacked by raccoons and her eyes were scratched out.
this entire time Lilly was a spirit in limbo. In this essay I will...
Avery ash Where?
MousyTroopLeaderG you need to watch the beginning of the movie. It’s in the drawings
@@deeez946 I did. I saw the little one got hurt but not dead.
MousyTroopLeaderG her eyes were scratched out. Most kids drawings represent death with scratched out eyes.
@@deeez946 I went back and watched the 4th times. Her eyes were fine. Maybe this is a culture thing. Where I came from, "#" or similar means dead. I thank you anyway.
When I first watched this movie I thought it was amazing, but now that I am a mother to a baby girl it makes me sad because these girls lost both parents I can’t imagine my baby in that situation
You make it so much easier to watch bro I love you
This was the most scariest, and get emotional movie I have ever watched. I cried so hard when Lilly went onto her “life” with Mama. And then when the butterfly landed on her hand, I CRIED MORE.
Mama being typed repeatedly at the hospital
Me: i swear to baguettes, i will report you to the server and have you banned
'I swear to baguettes' I LOVE IT
@Online Policer yeah joycelyn is a guy's name
I love this movie! Watched it several times knowing full well what happens! Thanks for the post! I got to relive it over again!😄
The Flashback scene scared the Mama outta me.
All Mama wanted was a daughter 💔
or a son
Or ya know an Apache attack helicopter because people can be whatever the hell they want to be today

Alright, I'm officially addicted to this channel! I've been binging fro 2 days now lol
This movie has a real weird spot in my memories. I was watching this with a girl from my school when I was in grade 11, long story short after leaving my house not even 5 minutes down the road she got T-boned by a large truck and died.years later I still think about it every time I see the movie.
How to watch horror movies without being scared

Right
@Puertorican Santa ik
Well, you can't explain the ending if you don't explain the movie...
They made that mama short that shit terrified me like back in the day, SUPER welldone, its cool to see they got to do IT
