- On this episode we explore Manitoba's East and West Blue Lake in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Here you'll find an amazing beach, some of the clearest water in the province and great fishing. Stay in the public campground or rent a cabin to enjoy all the area has to offer.
We also do some urban archaeology to look at why there are so many dead trees around the lake. The water rose and fell - and we'll show you some of the neat features and abandoned building that make for a great story when you visit. - Komedie
I have subscribed! This place has been on my mind for a couple of years now. Decided to put the trip off as it's far away from me, 4hrs plus!
Last year, I said that this year I'm going! This video has been so informative! It gave me the exact info that I was looking for.
We are new boat owners so that's an extra hassle to figure out when camping now. This video has made me more comfortable!
We are definitely looking forward to this. Thank you so much!
Make sure to check the followup video to see the new lodge they built.
@@TravelsWithBill Thank you. Will do!
Great work bill
Thanks Wayne!
We have camped her multiple times. We rented a cabin and they are cozy and we have also tented. Absolutely beautiful place!!!! We found the best fishing was in mid June!
No farm land around also helps water be so clear.
Say hi to arch and dawn for me in the shop please
Shall do! Looking forward to seeing their new look this year with all the renovations they did.
Nice to have found you :) We explore primarily the WestCoast for now in our classB, but look forward to learning about where we can someday visit by following you! :)
Great - hope you see some good ideas. When things finally clear up we hope to make it out that way too.
Great video Bill! My understanding Blue Lake has no outlet and has natural underground springs leading to the unusual high water level.
Yes - I've heard that too. But Dawn and Archie talk about a beaver damn that helped create or make the problem worse. I don't fully understand if that means there is some outlet, or if the damn blocked something else that caused a chain reaction.
@@TravelsWithBill likely a bit of both.
It is true it used to be flooded
You can rent boats on the private dock
