Marc, you are such a likeable guy that we don't mind your sales pitch videos. Keep them coming 😉
Thanks!!!
I replied to one of your posts on Facebook this afternoon. My wife's ISL-64 arrived today. AMAZING. Really impressed. The crown is solid. Can't wait 'til she gets home from work to try it on :-)
Enjoy, thank you!
I need to know how to do this
That seemed simple enough! Funny how, with just a few tools and know-how, you can have a brand new watch!
Looks great on the blue and grey strap.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
hey Mark, I believe you forgot to add this video to your W&L youtube playlist. Thanks for all the great content!
Mark, it would be great if you sold the titanium case with the crystal installed, correct crown/stem and pressure tested as one package so that customers can just drop the movement in, close the case back and be good to go! Bezel insert included maybe too? I would like a titanium case but this is too big of a job for somebody who isn't an experienced modder.
What he said. Only include bezel insert if we can pick from several in a drop down. Otherwise would be happy to flip thru the site inventory.
Would you be willing to pay a higher price for the pressure testing is what people should consider.
For myself I would, and I think they have an open market to sell pre-assembled cases with them pressure tested. If they do, I would note it would be good to note the machine used for the testing and the actual results per case.
Same here. If he's selling it: no brainer I'm buying. Period.
Double that. Would definitely buy a titanium case for my ISL01.
You cannot precut stems. They won't all work. Why install the crystal? You want flat? You want double dome? You want single dome? Maybe you don't want one of my crystals. Maybe you want one without AR. Etc. There's just too many formats. This is as bare bones as I can get and still be specific enough.
Not too many people can make a marketing video look so interesting. thanks for taking the time.
Mark we need a pogue homage . Can’t believe somebody hasn’t cashed in on that .
The bezel insert, strap and titanium case all go quite nicely together
I thought so, thank you.
Nice work for someone who doesn’t like doing it, really quick. Very cool series
Nice one Marc and you make that look ridiculously easy 😊
Thanks 👍
That looks really sharp! Love it!
Fascinating to see this done, your Watch and Learn videos are truly exceptional, the best by far I've seen on CZcams whilst your knowledge, passion and integrity as a businessman shine through.
Thanks so much!
Love your stuff, always enjoy the wrist check.
Keep them rolling!
Thanks, will do!
Just a matter of time before the titanium Islanders will be sold as assembled watches?
Might be a long time!
Fun and instructive -- thanks!
Thanks, Marc!
You made it look easy (at least not beyond my skill set. 😎)
I intend to make a titanium Spork. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks!
Love this video as well as all of your videos
Thanks.
Great video, Marc and the end result looks fantastic.
You've made me feel like I could attempt this now.
Go for it!
Looks amazing Marc... Well. Done
Many thanks!
Looks great. Nice job!
Thanks!
Well done. And yes i hope those orange seiko will be new islander
okay!
Great job Mark. I like it.
Thanks!
Thanks Herky Jerky, I think you did quite well - almost like you have done it once before. Cheers.
I'd love to see that old orange Seiko 5 get the islander treatment 😍
Hmmmmm
Good looking watch.
Thanks!
Nice work Marc!
Thanks!
Even with the tools, I'm not confident enough to do this myself. The man knows his job.
Though, the result speaks for itself: Gorgeous watch. 🤩
Cool, thanks
Once you have done it it's really easy to take watches apart and re-assemble them!
You had me til the new stem and stem trimming! Love the ability to swap out for titanium though. Very cool.
Almost had myself too!
Yes, excellent video! You are the mensch!
Thanks!
What a great product. I don't have a crystal press though. I thought you would have put loctite on the crown/stem thread, you don't want that coming off.
I really really hope you will release a 38mm Titanium case like this one.
Okay!
Is the your watch your way program still going and if it is, is the Ti case going to be an option?
Marc it’s only appropriate to make a titanium bracelet to pair with case!👋🏽
If only that simple.
Mark, your watches are gorgeous!
Thanks!
Awesome additions! Marc a nice darker backdrop would look cool as I find the white tends to blow out or overexpose the watches.
Okay, thanks.
I have citizen in steel and same model in titanium and it is significant weight difference ... so very good decision with titanium case !!! BTW - great bezel chosen :-)
Thank you!
Love your watches! I really hope to win one!!!
Still possible.
Nice video
Thanks.
Can I use my old skx case back and crown ? I wanna keep the old movement
Mark, that watch looks absolutely stunning 👍⌚ and you really did make it look easy, although if you're like me, it's a nightmare when your OCD kicks in with the dust and fingerprints 😂 and like you I hate doing hands and dials, so this conversion looks like a brilliant idea, great video 👍
Thanks for watching
This is your most hilarioius and charming video. You are such a compulsive explainer; I bet you’re horrible at poker. Thanks for showing us how to do it!
Glad you enjoyed!
I have an SKX where I put in an NE15 movement, I can bring use that stainless steel crown over to this one? (It's got the S logo so I prefer that). Any plans for the original style SKX bezel in titanium, or a case without the exposed lug holes?
Hi Marc, Just watched your review of the Orient Polaris GMT. I have been looking for a white dial version. Could you point me in the right direction to locate one please? I know they are out of production now. Thanks.
Awesome
Thanks
I was going to do a hand and case back mod to the ISL-18...but now I'm thinking titanium case mod too!! Marc that case looks awesome! I assume it's not coated in any antiscratch layer or anything?
Any reason why the existing crown stem is too short for the titanium case? Is the difference in the case dimensions or the crown?
Love the video and I plan to get a ISL-18 in the future and love this mod. It does appear to me that the 12 o'clock mark on the chapter ring is not lined up with the center of the applied 12 o'clock indices on the dial.
Thank you.
Nice job and product! A couple of things, though. I watched a Breitling service video where the tech removed the crystal by using an appropriately sized press insert layed inside the case then just used a jewelers mallet to tap it out. Works well! I'd also grease the caseback o-ring.
That was done already ;)
That Seiko looks very good. With the Islander treatment (sapphire bezel insert, solid link bracelet, screw-down crown) it could be a hit.
Thank you!!!
Very nice! On the other hand, I wouldn't mess with a beauty such as the ISL-18. It's already so beautiful, so glimmering, so... perfect. If ain't broken don't fix it :P Cheers
Lovley
That looks great!! Would that case be ok for the newer Seiko 5 Sports SRPD51K models?
It should work.
Great job Marc! I think I could do everything except the crystal due to lack of a press. Have a great day! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
You can buy one for like 15 bucks on amazon
Buy one, it will last a lifetime.
@@clockinwatches 👍🏻
@@islandwatch 👍🏻
Fits chapter ring, "Rotate it a bit" Seiko style :P
LOL
Hi Mark. It would be great to see an islander with a titanium head and bracelet. Are there any 4hz movements that would be an option?
The ISL-36/37/38/39 are 4hz
This is great, Mark! Any plans to sell a bronze case?
The first titanium SKX I ever saw was built by Random Rob. It’s presently in my watch box
You've done that more than a couple of times to be so proficient at it ;-)
Not really, to be honest!!!!
Nice! I must say, you make it seem easy. I just don't trust myself with the crystal press lol.
I have the confidence of knowing if I muck it up there's a few hundred more I can put in the video
Looks nice.
Couple of comments, hope they help
Trimming the stem - use wire cutters and then file. Threaded end only.
Might be an idea to ship these cases with a stem.
Starting from scratch.... I think you need case, strap, stem, movement, dial, chapter ring, hands, crystal, bezel insert. Am I missing something?
Guess you don't have a titanium strap to match.
Is there a wave dial that would work with day date? Couldn't see one.
Was looking at your web site for the instructions you mentioned when you introduced the cases. Couldn't find it. Posting a link/making it easy to find would help a lot.
Thanks.
I don't give instructions, I tell you what you need, what it works for, what it doesn't work for, etc.
@@islandwatch ok, then please tell me where all the 'excruciating detail' is on your web site.
Both are beautiful blue or original strap .
Thank you.
I have a kind of dumb question, Why are case backs so thick on the watch? couldn't the case back be thinner, even at the risk of losing depth rating? I am a desk diver and so many of the divers I buy have chunky case backs to keep the strong but I don't plan on diving with them. Can I buy thinner case backs?
Marc, would you ever consider producing an Islander with an abalone dial? Maybe a limited test run.
Possible
Hey Marc, are you selling that piece you just modded?
It may seem like a straightforward mod to you, but you're a mechanical engineer! Aside from my shaky hands, the steps involved, especially the trimming down of the stem, are more than I would attempt to do. Still, it's a very cool mod, especially the titanium--I'm a huge fan of the SR-71 Blackbird!
My fave too
I would like an option for crystal and ring installed. Most don’t have a press.
Such an inexpensive tool. Get one, and it will last a lifetime.
What about the SKX013 ?
And have you ever thought of making an SKX013 in Aluminum bronze ..( i know this is very specific but its my dream build)
perhaps one day
You said you cleaned but did not show it, can you tell us how or make a video on that process?
Cloth and compressed air ;)
I just wish you would release a sarb-style case w bracelet for nh movements 🤤
Noted.
Titanium Islander diver with high beat movement. I know that I have to wait for a while, but I will 🙂
:)
cool
Thanks.
Good option! How mucho would an Islander 018 Titanium cost?
like you see here, probably $600
Easy peazy
Lemon squeezy
no logo on the titanium crown?
No. Went sterile
I like that press. I've got an Amazon special not nearly that nice.
I have the cheap one too!
I would buy an orange dialed titanium islander immediately.
Thanks 👍
Please do another run of red octobers in titanium!
Noted.
Will you build a watch per order?
No, sorry.
Got excited when Mark said let me give it a weigh. Then realized not give it away :( The watch looks great .
LOL
Oooooo aaaah 👌
Thank you!
Nice idea titanium always attractive
By the way if you make another batch of isl 40 could you make a small number of champagne dial , Please Mark I would greatly appreciate 🙏
Noted.
@@islandwatch thank you very much 🙏
I have saved money for it and I am ready to shoot 😉
It would be a good idea to include 1-2 stems in the kit.
True
Um, you should be using blue Loctite on that stem and some silicone grease, Seiko TSF-451, on that caseback gasket and crown gaskets.
gaskets already greased!
Any chance you're willing to sell this one? I would gladly purchase.
No, sorry
I think a Ti/Sapphire caseback would look much nicer. Yes, it would add a bit of weight however the sterile TI caseback is too plain IMO. Maybe add an engraved dolphin/wave to the existing TI caseback would be interesting too.
Thanks for the tip.
I would die and kill for a mako ii titanium case
Marc make a 18k yellow gold case!
Wow, pricey!
Not saying I inspired this video or anything, but I did suggest it in the last video about the new cases
That crystal press made me feel uneasy 😳
You get used to it.
Am I correct in thinking that your Islander cases are of discontinued models?
If so, how about producing discontinued Rolex 40mm sub Islanders?
I think they’d do very well 😂🤣😂
Noted, thank you.
why not to sell titanium Islander on titanium bracelet??
titanium bracelets are incredibly expensive to machine
@@TheAechBomb true, and quite pointless, they are soft ...
COST
If you're going to homage more old Seikos, my pick is the Stargate
Got it!
Never seen someone so quick and nervous build a dang watch. Made my head spin. Good Lawd
LOL
A TiISLANDER.
You're not old.
I'm from 1977: I'm not old. 🤨
LOL
Nice⌚ creation.
You should make it your next giveaway 😉
I'll think about it
How much for you to build me one? Haha
:)
Don’t you have to line up the chapter ring as well? Just to get it perfect that’s all
Its pretty darn close
Sale premade 🥴
🎉
Awesome
Thanks!
