      @@PeteVXR This will be my 5th CBT course = 10 years riding with no serious accidents to me or others with very little knowledge of the high way code. i just observed other motorists and now wished i bought the high way code book all those years ago and studded it so i wouldn't be in this situation now. i was hoping there would be a mock test with multiple choice on high way code as it would be easier, without this it's gonna be harder damn. it's hard enough remembering quite a lot of the signs a long with symbols, i just bought a brand new 125 with OTR and insurance total over £3,300. i will be screwed if i fail high way code for getting to the gym and work. the pressure is on not to mention stressed and worried....

    Good video but I have to disagree with not having a lesson or taster session pre cbt.
    Reasons why as an instructor myself I have found that in certain cases I.e the younger generation they have not had any experience at all regarding riding any petrol or electric vehicle ( obviously off road or within a controlled safe area) so it can be very daunting for some that not only have they got learn how to ride but also learn how to ride in a safe manner, and I’ve found on some occasions that before the 2 hour minimum road ride (element e) that some students don’t meet requirements so have to come back for further training,so in my opinion I like to offer taster sessions. But good information given in video 👍

      May as well wait if you don't wanna ride a 50cc. Because the CBT only lasts 2 years then you either have to re-do it or move onto direct access and get a proper bike license.

    I'm 16 and I'm interested in motorcycles but you can't learn gears at 16 apparently because they only have 125cc motorcycles which I'm not allowed to use so, my only choice is a scooter.

      No, but different schools take different approaches. We lend people boots. Personally, I wouldn't take someone on the road without suitable footwear as the risk of lower leg injury is foreseeable and we talk about it in element A.

    A great informative video! A hypothetical question from a non-rider. Full car licence held for 40+ years. I'd love to own and ride a Maeving RM1 electric motor bike. It has a top speed of 45mph, no gears, twist and go. I'd never intend to ride a geared bike. How would a CBT test centre approach this given that afaik geared bikes are used for a CBT test?

    • @markellott5620
      @markellott5620 Před 7 měsíci

      CBT facilities also have automatic machines. Usually restricted 50cc machines. It makes no difference as you will then be able to ride any machine up to 125cc.

      Then someone is breaking the DVSA rules and needs to have their licence to train revoked, or your mate is telling whoppers. The road ride element alone is a minimum of two hours. CBT consists of five elements. On a good day, I can get through in about five hours. That's with people who already have riding experience and don't need much tuition.

    I've never been able to find a sensible answer to this, maybe someone here will know the answer. A light quadricycle can be driven on an AM licence, however a heavy quadricycle requires a B1, people keep saying a heavy quadricycle can be driven on a "bike licence" but I can't see anyway of getting a B1 except for getting a full B car licence. Anyone actually know the score?
